how many jars should we prepare for the fries when they are around 2 months old?i think we should saparate them or put them in a bigger tank that can support that many young bettas. if put them in a community tank, how big should the tank be?

putting gravel in betta tank will enhance the look of the tank, but beware of the bacteria that is kept with the gravel. gravel encourage bacteria growth and you have to becareful with that.

as for taming, if you mean it will look at you when you reach home or will go to your hand when you put your hand closer and closer to the tank, then i think what you need is time, when it recognizes you as its food source it will go to you.

oh yea, how to identify ketapang tree? i am really struggling in identifying one... i saw a lot of trees with the kind of leaves that was shown in the previous posts. but how to identify which is ketapang tree?

i think washing the gravel thoroughly when you change the water will be useful. bacteria is the main cause for most of the diseases for betta, so , be careful especially if you are raring CT or HM.

it is easy to take care of if you rare the normal ones or short fin betta[aka plakat]. feed once a day, skip a day per week, change water every 5~7 days. when changing water need to make sure that the PH and the water temperature is about the same. that's all to keep it alive, for better condition, can put in black water[to normalize pH to around 6.8-7.0, fight against bacteria] and sea salt[prevent deseases]. in case of sickness it is always good to prepare a bottle of medicine like methylene blue. erm...that's all i think... if you want to breed them then there will be more things to learn and prepare.

-edit-
i forgot to mention, you can replace black water by using ketapang leaves or also known as indian almond tree. but i do not know how the tree looks like. so,i am not using it currently.

1) you mean flaring? i guess it is to make the enemies scared because their size will look bigger, and on another occation, to impress the females..
2) not sure, but i guess it is ok.

its the same. but sometimes bettas do live well together with other bettas even if it is not their brother or sister.

we dont put one male and multiple females... for the breeding steps you might wanna try googling...the mating part is rather easy, but taking care of the fries will be quite troublesome if this is your first time.

no idea.normally will boil for around 5 minutes. enuff to kill bacteria and maintain the extract. put in the leave for around 30 minutes will make the water brownish already.

froxngn>> you better get the leaf out and change water. the leaf might deteriate into the water already. not good for bettas in my opinion.

breeding betta is not a easy task if you are thinking of breeding a nice betta. if you are thinking of breeding veil tail, you might as well dont try.IMO...no offence
