QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 12 2008, 01:37 PM) i do remember come by bettas bred from HM line but a little short of reaching 180 degree, still called HM. and i don't recall those who are almost 180 degree being called delta tail cos AFAIK delta tails don't open even close to 180 degree. so i did a little check and here's what i found.... http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/bettafish/tailfinforms.php just to share. anyway, I'm tired of keeping crowns and HM - miss my water change and that's it, curls come in. so nowadays if ever i go betta again, I'll go HMPK or PK. but yes, it was my mistake on SOD's betta - Delta Tail it is....... no problem! and yea maintaining long finned ones take a lot of effort.. that's what im going thru now with 4 my HMs, 3 of which i got from yewlin PKs are not as demanding in maintenance-wise ya? [ how come their arent people mentioning things about DT- double tails? I got a double tail from a friend who went to Pangkor. Does anyone else have a double tail, and do they have any special characteristics or something.. like crowntails are not so forgivable in water changes?? Also, are the crowntails with blueish body and red fins veryy common?

So to answer your question, yes...blueish body and red fins r very common (& vice versa) whether it is a crowntail/veiltail or even a halfmoon

there are DTs being kept by local hobbyist, but we only use it as a tool to compliment our line.
most DT comes with short/stunted body because of too much inbreeding, although it's not hard to find a DT with normal looking body nowadays but the claudal lobes are still short of DT standard.
