But i can't confirm with u all mosquito will attract by it la..but so far i got saw mosquito sticking on it.
If u saw my picture, the leave there got some black tips/spot, those are bugs & insect.
The water usually i change it once 2 weeks, then u can harvest the larva out for the betta to eat.
But the larva is really small & a bit transparent also. So u need good eye sight to check for it.  tongue.gif

Those plant are categories as CARNIVOROUS PLANTS. falls under Drosera species, which are comes in pygmy size.
I heard my fren said u can get it cheap at sungai buloh there.Sometimes at those carrefour gardening section got sell.

hehe.... no problem.

But i oredi feel tired & lazy liao to pick up the larva, since it so small.
2nite or 2moro going to do 1 more round of check-up on the larva first.
Actually the pile of water still got many dead insect one...so, maybe if lucky the insect not die yet, i think can use it to feed grown up betta also.

HM and HMPK difference in their tail. HMPK's tail are short but it spread to 180 degree (or more) just like the HM.

as to the one in your pic, doesn't look like veiltail. how far can the fella spread the tail?

then HM la. cos not all HM can open tail 180. smile.gif veiltail surely cannot. veiltail the tail point downwards like a huge gown, flare also won't open up like that of HM.

if a long-finned betta's claudal cannot open 180degrees, then it's not to be called a Halfmoon or HM.

hmm.gif i do remember come by bettas bred from HM line but a little short of reaching 180 degree, still called HM.

and i don't recall those who are almost 180 degree being called delta tail cos AFAIK delta tails don't open even close to 180 degree.

so i did a little check and here's what i found....

http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/bettafish/tailfinforms.php

QUOTE
Super Delta Tail Betta
This form is also known as Super Delta, SDT, or HMx. It is basically an enhanced version of the standard Delta Tail, and some are just shy of being full HM. This is a very beautiful tail, and often more pleasant to have than HM, since there are not as many worries about the tail collapsing, or the fish having difficulty in swimming and spawning, or blowing fins. They are also available much more reasonably than true HM, and will usually produce some HM offspring if they come from a HM spawn.

QUOTE
Halfmoon Betta
The Halfmoon (or HM) is the hottest tail form going today, and with good reason. These guys look great even when not flaring, and when the do flare the effect is astounding; a huge tail that spreads straight up and straight down, full dorsal, and symmetrical anal fin. They are quite an accomplishment in Betta form.

Specifically, a halfmoon Betta must have a caudal where both ends are exactly 180 degrees apart or more, spreading towards the front. Caudal edges have to be straight or curving outwards, and not bending inwards.
There are a few important things to strive for when breeding for a Halfmoon betta:
1.) Symmetry - the body line that cuts and seperates the caudal into half.
2.) Balance - the ability to draw an arc that begins from the caudal and encompasses the dorsal and anal without hitting a snag.
3.) 180 degree caudal with straight and crisp edges.

smile.gif just to share.

anyway, I'm tired of keeping crowns and HM - miss my water change and that's it, curls come in.

so nowadays if ever i go betta again, I'll go HMPK or PK.

but yes, it was my mistake on SOD's betta - Delta Tail it is.......
