bbs or daphnia? same size with fries wor

some said to remove male after all of the egg hatch some will keep them together..cause some said the male will eat those fries up...so depend on you

i got some friend who feed them daphnia straight after 3days then after 7days change to bbs...

ya..since infusoria is easy to culture go for it..its hard to get daphnia now..then u can change to bbs more protein or u can try crushed egg yolk but it will cloud ur water very fast not a good idea..

three days or so and the water starts to stinks... if feed with egg yolk, OMG~

dont feed egg yolk if u have other option..egg yolk will cloud water easily

the shop opposite cheras aquarium has daphnia in stock. bought some yesterday

daphnia culture? how? i tried numerous times 5 yrs ago but all failed....wut do u use? yeast solution?

daphnia live on algae,so need green water(contain infusoria also)..u can make your own green water by using pelleted chicken manure..then when the water is ful with algae..some ppl use brewers yeast with about 25 frozen peas, several spinach leaves, a tablespoon of sweet potato baby food to feed them..but im not sure will this work anot..

but some other ppl will throw in lotsa shit inside to make the green water..most important is those green water..I even read about some breeder went hunt their own daphnia in the "tahi logi" then they clean it themself..the water in tahi logi is food for dahpnia

hmm...i remember trying green water as well..in the end the water started clouding and thickening like starch and they ended up all dying...dunno wut went wrong then

weird..it become thick & something will be floating ontop?like shit?

it becomes thick and there will be a thick white layer on top of the water...and it starts to stink

what did u use to make the green water?

i can barely remember...i think it was banana skin or something like that

try using spinach & lettuce..boil it 1st & cool in room temp then throw them into the water see how it goes..

Hello everyone. I'm new here. Glad to see a lot of ppl actually love bettas and care for them!! We need more ppl like this especially with the knowledge and interest to jaga bettas workin in pet shops. I got damn angry seeing how bettas are kept in commercial pet shops... you know what I'm talkin about la... >.>

Anyways, I've been reading up somewhat about betta... and I heard from some breeder that the algae or izzit the daphnia (that lives on algae) eats the betta punya shit.... which is good.

1-So the question is... maybe this sounds dumb but izzit safe to keep the betta + algae together in an aquarium? Cuz I takut the water become lagi dirty, then the betta fall sick. So it's safe to assume that the betta eats the daphnia that lives on the algae and the algae eats the shit of the betta? Like 1 cycle liddat.

2-Izzit can use tap water *without anti-chlorine* as aquarium water?

3-And does anyone knows where to find ketapang tree in PJ??

4-Any good recommendations on buying betta live foods such as larvae, white worms, bloodworms, brine shrimp, dapnia from any shop? Got any shop sell kah? Can culture sendiri oso I know but then have to monitor closely lo... if not eg: larvae will jadik mosquito then damn syiok my house nanti.

5-I'm also looking for bettas particularly HM/ DT/Rosetail; multicolour, butterly or marble....transparent oso nice. Better if it's from a breeder or owner and not a pet shop.... Send me a picture. XD

never a good idea to keep algae with any fish. You must use anti-chlorine with normal tap water. There are 2 distinct places where u can get ketapang leaves in PJ, 1 outside old Cheow Yang coffeeshop and 1 around Section 17 Shell petrol station (near the bus station). It is not a good idea to keep mosquito larvae...If the town council ppl find out that you are cultivating mosquitoes, they will fine you. Thats all i can help you with

-Is it safe to assume that bettas fit well with all types of fresh water aquatic plants? And that when we plant the plants together, they won't kacau each other? Like fight for sunlight/etc? Maybe I'm mixing them up with plants on land... O_o I just know that the plants' leaves or ornaments mustn't be too sharp la or else the betta fin can koyak wan.

-As for the gravel and sand for the bottom, anything oso can right?? X3
