Here is mine, tempered glass screen protector and case applied. Both cost less than RM50.

...but on the back is still a 5s at heart!

does the screen protector makes your screen a little bit blur or it just appears to be blur because of the camera angle?

iPhone using gorilla glass right? Hen I use gorilla glass sp... 2 layers Lo...
*
OH! ok hahah cause you mentioned 2 layers "on" the screen therefore reading it literally, the screen is not being included as one of the layers.

strange though, despite the fact that the iPhone also uses Gorilla Glass but it seems that the one on the iPhone is more fragile. I've seen my friend who dropped his iPhone 5 on tarmac (waist level), the entire screen got shattered. I also so unfortunately dropped my Lumia 800 on the same surface and same level but only found some very minor scratches on the screen and only the edge of the right screen got chipped a little =(

sometimes, it leads me to believe that the iPhone doesn't house a Gorilla Glass =(

What do you guys think if buying oem product that will bring risk to your iphone?

Let say waterproof case.

Buy oem one coz ori is expensive.

For me, dont want buy original product because expensive. But why do you bought original iphone, why dont you buy iphone clone since its cheaper. Do you get me?
*
Many share your sentiment and I think we all get you. Why not go that extra mile to buy a proper case for the iPhone since you have already splurge a fortune for the iPhone itself

BUT

the thing is this, many here also is on the view that since they have already splurged a fortune for the iPhone then they should cut back on the protectors etc.

To many, screen protectors and casings are secondary protection, the first layer of protection should be yourself being extremely careful but no matter how careful one can be, accidents always happens.

My view is that if you intend to purchase a normal casing just to prevent your iPhone from customary scratches and bumps then OEM casings will do just as good BUT if you are looking for specialty cases such as waterproof then it's definitely not worth risking buying OEM.

If you purchase the casing from the original manufacturer then in the event of any defects in the casing which causes your iPhone to suffer damages then there is a probability that you may raise a claim against them however if you purchased it from an OEM then, too bad.

The casing I am using now for my iPhone 5s is a duplicate of the SGP ulltra thin soft clear casing and it only costs me RM8.00 whereas the original one will costs me at least RM90.00. i cannot find the justification on spending almost RM100.00 for a casing which will only provides protection for scratches.

just to share.

if you guys like how the sound output of the original earpods but gets irritated because it falls out very easily or with the slightest of accidental tucked on the wire then i highly recommend EarSkinz.

It's quite pricey for such a small thing but it really gives the earpods better comfort and fit.

I bought it from @dino89 at RM40 (RM6.00 for postage).

my friend managed to make payment through Paypal for two (2) units despite the crazy traffic however depending on your luck, if you do not fall within the first 5000 customers then you have to wait for the second (2nd) batch.

good luck!

whats the rush? just because its cheap doesnt means must buy right? unless you need a power bank.. hehe..

beats me.

people always have that mentality to grab everything when it's cheap.

i rather pay a little bit extra and avoid all these congestion.

i feels like galaxy note when iphone change the screen size

laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif

i love the current size of iphone.

donno whether to get or not ip6 since ip6 not the same as its predecessor, 5s.
*
haha don't worry, Apple fans will write a 10 page article on how the increase in screen real estate is still different from Samsung laugh.gif but yeah, i think 4.7" is still ok but i love the iPhone 5's dimension. it looks proportioned and fits right in my pocket.

if you have a 5s then i don't it's sensible to get a 6 or 6s (unless you are a hardcore fan). the difference in spec won't be very noticeable.

yeah making new size of screen is something new. from 4inch to 4.7 is really difference.

i feel the originality of iphone itself will be gone. from size of screen until the physical body of the iphone.

yes i have 5s, from 3gs to 4 to 4s to 5 to 5s. i followed all. but when it come to ip6, 4.7inch feel like  ohmy.gif

not saying apple kenot move on. emm. the size of 5s fit very nicely. the body, even it easily scratch compare to 4/4s which made from glass.

thats my opinion la  biggrin.gif

=O Apple fan =OOOOO

Well, i believed that Apple will have a way to make that 4.7" look exquisite. they have always managed to release their product in a very well designed manner so i'm really anticipating to see how Apple "packaged" the iPhone 6 around that new screen but for that rumored larger sized screen iPhone, now that's an entire different story altogether.

just a question.

i saw a rather good deal on OEM lightning cable. it's on sale for less than RM25.00 and i intend to purchase it. no problem with my pc recognizing my iphone through it but my only concern is that will it like somehow "damage" my iphone in any sense?

i've never purchased OEM cables before but i figured it would be a total waste spending alomst RM100.00+ to buy an original lightning cable just so that i can transfer my pictures to my pc

=(

some really low quality will cause your phone to restart... n most of the time the chip within the cable will damage faster...
*
so, any possible damage would be restricted to the cable itself and wouldn't extend to the iphone?

so far never experienced it myself.. but again, those that i bought aren't really cheap stuff... some are not MFI certified but ok la for charging... but I would really recommend to buy original cable as the MFI cable are almost around the same price, if not higher... those non mfi chip easily damaged..
*
What do you mean by "MFI" cables. What are their price range?

I just need them to use them for transferring pictures and songs to my PC and nothing more. Not even using them for charging. Very lazy to be plucking out the original lightning cable from the wall plug and then plugging it back.

MFI = made for iPhones. Mfi cables price can go even higher than the original cables.
*
AH! those manufactured by third party companies.

QUOTE(Kellyyhx @ Oct 1 2014, 11:08 AM)
Most of the OEM cable doesn't last long, they either charge half way and kaput or loosen off.

So best recommended to go for original cable, or reputable brand cable like belkin.
*
laugh.gif i'm not willing to spent almost RM100.00 for an original cable just for the sole purpose of transferring pictures and songs into my PC. I'm not even going to use it to charge my iPhone because i'm using the one that comes with the iPhone for charging purposes therefore it doesn't make much sense splurging such a large sum just so that i could do something so trivial =(

not all 3rd party got certified as MFI ya. You will see the certification on the box. Or you can at apple MFI list for the list of manufacturers with the certification. but as a guideline, anything cheaper than RM50 most likely do not have the certification.
*
actually i don't really mind if they are not MFI cables and i am not expecting them to last for 3 years or so. i'm just looking for a cheap and convenient way to have my files in the iPhone transferred to my PC without the possibility of hurting my iPhone.
