Sure but take note that the lightning head might not fit if you are using those cases with small opening at the charging port area. You will have to remove the case each time you charge.
For me no issue coz i use my phone without any case.

The durability of the original cable depends heavily on how u use it. I'm still using the first iPhone 5 ori cable till now.. No problem yet... Those cheap one also used before .. Max 6 months then cannot detect ios 7 Anymore.

From what I can see, failures of the cable tends to be from the usage pattern of the user itself. Maybe you should get those flat cable type. It should be more durable, but make sure get a trustworthy brand.

Depend on luck mayb? Or mayb u handle the cable roughly? I have 5 original cables each are 1.5 years old and no problem with any of the cables

i always unplug the cable from phone by hold the white small panel wor not by pulling the cable..yet normall 1 year or 8 mth sure cannot detect or charge anymore hmm

IIRC, EC already had the project for sector 5 on-going in Sep 12 right after ip5 launched that time. EC even made online waiting list.

Waiting for another radical design from them again...
