Just thought I'd share my experience here. I've had sinus surgery 4-5 years ago, where the doc cut off parts of the bones in my nasal passage.
The surgery itself was ok, just went in under anesthesia and woke up after the surgery. But, post surgery - there were so much complications.
I was discharged the next day and had to be re-admitted after 2 days when the bleeding did not stop after cleaning with neti pot. Was in the hospital
for a week, and post discharge took overall a month's time of mc.
Fast forward a few years post surgery, my nose has become much more sensitive and prone to bleeding(I've never had any nasal bleeding pre-surgery).
Often, I will get bloody mucus discharge when feeling under the weather. I've stopped saline wash for a year or so, but recently been using it again to clear off mucus build up at nights.
Also been doing endoscopy check ups routinely every year.
Based on my experience/opinion, I would not consider getting this surgery if I could choose again.
Nevertheless, anyone who wish to opt for this surgery, please do research(get 2nd or 3rd opinions) thoroughly before committing.
