QUOTE(ilfort @ Mar 31 2014, 10:44 AM) Owh..got voucher about RM120. Pretty good deal actually but still bit expensive QUOTE(Lego_Jason @ Mar 31 2014, 12:26 PM) Hello everyone, reporting in! Just came back from a week of seminar in Hong Kong... I know what you're thinking, Lego shopping!! Nice marketing done by Lego Trading I didn't get anything other than a Lego Woody alarm clock that I had wanted for so long to go together with Buzz... Generally it is a very interesting place especially In's Place where you can find lots of discontinued sets. I saw a 10189 Taj Mahal going for HK$14000! Prices are generally cheap but not cheap enough to get me to forget about the hassle of hauling the big boxes through the busy streets of Hong Kong and back to Malaysia... So after checking out most of the stores that were opened and controlling my urges to buy I ended up buying nothing. I'm quite surprised that the prices are "fixed", maybe I'm just not very good at bargaining but every store I go to they just tell me price is fixed and non-negotiable so that really put me off finding good deals for certain sets... I hear others having a great time shopping in Hong Kong so either I'm looking at the wrong places or just a terrible shopper. Anyway, yesterday was at Bangsar Village and my daughter spotted a Lego truck parked by the road kerb outside Coffee Bean. So we checked it out and it is called "The Mobile Lego City". Inside the truck is a built up Lego Police Station on Display, a Lego City game on iPad and a pile of bricks for the kids to do their MOC. From what I understand, they are out to create their own customer database so first thing you have to do is to fill up the registration form provided before being allowed into the truck. The kids are given a postcard sized card with 5 boxes to be stamped after they go through each event station. So first station is the Police Station display, you play with it for a bit and gets a stamp. Next is the iPad game, another stamp. Then comes the MOC, create something and get another stamp. Take your MOC down to the booth to have a photo taken and printed on the spot, another stamp. Once all done, you get a RM10 shopping voucher. Sorry I didn't take any photos of the truck and the inside of the truck. Here are photos of the flyer to tell you when they will be next and the RM10 voucher I received: [attachmentid=3911126][attachmentid=3911127][attachmentid=3911128] |

QUOTE(sunnyboy @ Apr 2 2014, 08:56 AM) Can get the original instruction from ebay if you are really into Lego Movie and a perfectionist, else just download the instruction and BL the part can be much more cheaper QUOTE(tiensheng @ Apr 2 2014, 02:18 PM) Today as expected , isetan 1utama got a new box of lego movie minifig ... but there are 3 isetan stuff (with a tag stating on break or rest) and 1 guy with lego polo tee standing in front of the minifig box and start squeezing and filtering the whole box , half of minifig being choose and place aside. Last time I saw TRU midvalley staff do the same with the S10 CMF. He done it while placing barcode tag on the pack. Pretty lame and unacceptable act done by the staff. so this is the reason why yesterday there are only 3 minifig left on the box with alot of thumbprints .... not squeeze by anyone but their own on break staff ... ! Well done Isetan ~ |

QUOTE(nuondanet @ Apr 6 2014, 01:47 PM) At the time during my purchase no tax and other related cost had been charged. There is the thing for Amazon US, you need to check each set because some big set did not have tax. This are the set that I checked dont have tax currently (As of 6th April 2014):EV3 - RM 1342.89 Tower Bridge - RM 1040.94 Opera House - RM 1368.64 Price include postage and of course valid if buy 1 set only, if you buy more than 1 it will be taxed. Unfortunately all modular and HH is taxed and not recommend to buy. I dont know how this happen maybe got some loophole in their system. They will use DHL for shipping (5 - 10 days) and I never had problem with custom. You can do trial and error for small set on which combination will not get taxed. Last time I tried 1 MetalBeard + 1 BTTF + 1 Jet Rocka did not get taxed QUOTE(mnibar @ Apr 6 2014, 05:17 PM) So LLM got the exclusive Firetruck Mech set, now got some reason to visit LLM Big Shop |

QUOTE(papabear959 @ Apr 6 2014, 08:09 PM) i dun think the 70813-Rescue Reinforcement is exclusive to LLM...saw it at BV2 last month alredi...prolly haven't restocked the set onli... Owh..I thought its exclusive to Lego Shop only. How naive I am to think BV2 will not have that set QUOTE(nuondanet @ Apr 6 2014, 08:44 PM) Yup surprisingly no tax. Amazon Global Eligible will include tax on the final price for purcahse more than RM500. Even thought they state that the tax will be refund if actually no tax is impose by our custom, I currently wouldn't dare to try it |

QUOTE(BassCS @ Apr 10 2014, 09:27 AM) Thanks for all the welcome wishes. Great to be with a group of AFOL. You can start your modular collection with Grand Emporium, followed by Pet Shop and then Town Hall. Get Haunted House for extra value. Palace Cinema and Parisian Restaurant you can get after all 4 have complete. All retired modular can be BL-ing bit by bit Wow, your collection is impressive. Still a long way to go. Furthermore discontinue modular are tooooo expensive. BTW poison started quite strong. Getting my palace cinema tomorrow |
