How much is the price before it gone forever? 

Hello everyone, reporting in! Just came back from a week of seminar in Hong Kong... I know what you're thinking, Lego shopping!! But unfortunately was there for work so had very little time to shop. I did manage to check out some of the places mentioned by fellow AFOLs here, credit goes to bro cute_boboi and Bigfoot-X for the shopping guide and store contact.

I didn't get anything other than a Lego Woody alarm clock that I had wanted for so long to go together with Buzz...

Generally it is a very interesting place especially In's Place where you can find lots of discontinued sets. I saw a 10189 Taj Mahal going for HK$14000! Just feels special to be in the presence of such a massive set.

Prices are generally cheap but not cheap enough to get me to forget about the hassle of hauling the big boxes through the busy streets of Hong Kong and back to Malaysia... So after checking out most of the stores that were opened and controlling my urges to buy I ended up buying nothing.

I'm quite surprised that the prices are "fixed", maybe I'm just not very good at bargaining but every store I go to they just tell me price is fixed and non-negotiable so that really put me off finding good deals for certain sets... I hear others having a great time shopping in Hong Kong so either I'm looking at the wrong places or just a terrible shopper.

Anyway, yesterday was at Bangsar Village and my daughter spotted a Lego truck parked by the road kerb outside Coffee Bean. So we checked it out and it is called "The Mobile Lego City". Inside the truck is a built up Lego Police Station on Display, a Lego City game on iPad and a pile of bricks for the kids to do their MOC.

From what I understand, they are out to create their own customer database so first thing you have to do is to fill up the registration form provided before being allowed into the truck. The kids are given a postcard sized card with 5 boxes to be stamped after they go through each event station. So first station is the Police Station display, you play with it for a bit and gets a stamp. Next is the iPad game, another stamp. Then comes the MOC, create something and get another stamp. Take your MOC down to the booth to have a photo taken and printed on the spot, another stamp. Once all done, you get a RM10 shopping voucher.

Not Legoland, a bit further south. Just retrieving goodies from my offshore 'warehouse'. 

Did visit Legoland but more for kids to play. Nothing worth buying except some polybags maybe. PAB prices better now but I'm not a MOC'er. Sets not worth getting unless got sales with 30% or more  discounts.

Haha! I was afraid of that so that's why kept quiet... Really don't have time as it is full time work and hardly any free time...  

BTW, i think the Lego Movie Minifigure is cheaper, RM11.90 each...
if i'm not mistaken, the series 10,9,8 is RM12.90 each

Hmmm... It's only my first trip there to check out the Lego shops and don't really know my way around Hong Kong... From what I heard prices are good but I was on a work trip so don't have the luxury of spending lots of time comparing prices and hauling the big boxes home... If you are there on a family vacation or business trip then it should be worth it, if to purposely fly over for Lego probably not unless you plan to haul lots of big sets. Don't forget besides air ticket you have to pay for accommodation...

My modular row, now with Parisian Restaurant and Police modular MOC. Got about to build my Parisian Restaurant and retake all my modulars again.

If purposely fly there to shop, the tickets almost the same as retail.....but HK definitely have cheaper lego sets. Managed to get lord biz evil lair at hkd600. About 100 cheaper than rrp here.....my friemd's wife special delivery to my wife hotel....

Price here in KL I think can get about RM300, price from Lego'er. Actually I been contemplating about getting it here with vouchers, but I think Parkson don't have that set right? So just happy that my wife got a biz trip there, can get my friend to haul.

He normally hauls it at Let's Go, sort of like a regular now.

No worries, it's heaven for collectors. Like me although I dislike the busy-ness of the city folks, the eateries are pretty good, and can get some really unique stuffs especially you're into collecting stuff.....like myself, football jerseys.

yeah they use volumetric.. i do hope S@H will use a box that fits the ship nicely.. just not sure whether there are some standard sized ones.. anyone having those info probably can share out 

cost saving definitely won't be much. the only incentive for me to use them is when there's exclusive promotion.. say martian in march / raven in may 4th weekend.. other than that can just buy from local resellers..

Today as expected , isetan 1utama got a new box of lego movie minifig ... but there are 3 isetan stuff (with a tag stating on break or rest) and 1 guy with lego polo tee standing in front of the minifig box and start squeezing and filtering the whole box , half of minifig being choose and place aside.

so this is the reason why yesterday there are only 3 minifig left on the box with alot of thumbprints .... not squeeze by anyone but their own on break staff ... !

Can get the original instruction from ebay if you are really into Lego Movie and a perfectionist, else just download the instruction and BL the part can be much more cheaper 
Last time I saw TRU midvalley staff do the same with the S10 CMF. He done it while placing barcode tag on the pack. Pretty lame and unacceptable act done by the staff.
