Can try Moliplayer, but if you want to play files frm the home network which can a workgroup sharing option, windows phone does not allow connecting to a workgroup. It only recognise common sharing folders from computers, can't really select the folder.

I got a few apps which I purchased:

1. Tubecast (downloadable youtube video or audio into your phones) and can broadcast to HTPC via XBMC to display it on any TV. Sort of like Chromacast.. but only for youtubes.

2. Metrotube : also downloadable youtube videos, I bought it also.

3. Jack of Tools Pro

4. Utorrent remote: remote control your torrenting activity from your computer, anywhere in the world.

5. Opera Mini Browser (beta) - reintroduced into windows phone platform this week

6. Plex : (paid), to stream videos from my HTPC.

7. Kuwo apps - free apps to listen to all chinese songs from all over the world . You will need to change your region to China to be able to download. The songs are able to be downloaded and stored. Brilliant apps.

I don't use dropbox thingy, as Microsoft Cloud storage is more than enough and very capable. After I sync my live account to google account, the phone contacts are now totally in sync with my Google Contact, very quickly as well. Which is excellent. I did change my windows phone once after I lost my earlier 1020. The new windows phone just sync back all the contact in no time.

hey guys, any idea how to introduce the lumia 1520 to my parents to convince them so that I can buy it myself ?
I already got the money to buy it, but they think nokia's phones nowadays already outdated compared to samsung galaxy s5 those and they think its not worth it... so any idea to tell them that it is actually on par with other phones like iphone 5s etc ? please help me  cry.gif

Parents don't care much about camera, whatsapps etc..

Tell them Windows phone can share your college work stored online, and read write all windows office documents on the phone unlike Androids or IOS.

You can write and draw college college note on Note. That you can delete phone content through internet if the phone got stolen, so its safe to keep this phone. That its not popular, so its less likely to be stolen in the first place. And its cheaper than other smartphone in the market now. And at the end, mentioned that it takes great photos and videos, so no need to bring camera anymore when all of you travel.

Parents only listen to you if you said it can gets work done.
