official windows phone file manager is coming. http://www.wpcentral.com/official-file-man...indows-phone-81

The No.1 reason for me wanting to give up WP is the lack of this. Right now, I have to rely on Pocket File Manager apps which does get the job done but a bit troublesome to use.

Nope. But if u do, it's advisable to just restart your phone.
There's another file manager called Aerize Explorer. But I think it's quite similar to Pocket File Manager but free for now.

couldn't find it on my WP8. Can use it to transfer Microsoft Office documents (words, excel etc) and PDF from desktop computer into phone memory?

With Pocket File Manager (PFM), I could but have to do the follow steps:
1. Zip the documents into rar
2. Copy and paste the rar to SD card
3. Use PFM to copy and paste the rar from SD card to phone memory.
4. Use PFM to unzip the documents.
5. Documents now in phone memory.

Huh? I don't use the file manager for that, I just connect to PC, copy Office documents to Documents folder in Internal Memory. That's enough for the docs to show up in Office. Even PDF you can put any folders on your SD Card since Adobe Reader can open any folders on it.

Anyway, the File manager I'm using is this -> Aerize Explorer

The problem is, I have hundreds of file and you can't have subfolder in Internal Memory's Document to properly organize them.

Oh! Ok your use case is very different from mine haha. I just occasionally have some stuff I might wanna view or edit only. Even then I usually just drop it into my Dropbox or OneDrive, then download it & do my editing.

And I have another problem. Am often in areas or overseas without 24/7 internet access.
