QUOTE(apecx92 @ May 3 2014, 02:49 AM) official windows phone file manager is coming. http://www.wpcentral.com/official-file-man...indows-phone-81 The No.1 reason for me wanting to give up WP is the lack of this. Right now, I have to rely on Pocket File Manager apps which does get the job done but a bit troublesome to use. |

But I think it's quite similar to Pocket File Manager but free for now. |

Can use it to transfer Microsoft Office documents (words, excel etc) and PDF from desktop computer into phone memory? There's another file manager called Aerize Explorer. But I think it's quite similar to Pocket File Manager but free for now. With Pocket File Manager (PFM), I could but have to do the follow steps: 1. Zip the documents into rar 2. Copy and paste the rar to SD card 3. Use PFM to copy and paste the rar from SD card to phone memory. 4. Use PFM to unzip the documents. 5. Documents now in phone memory. |

Seeing our dear topic slowed down.. Why don't we do an app highlight of our favorites..
I'll start with my absolute favorite: NextGen Reader There's a free ad version but I bought it for ad free. To support the developer cos I loved it so much. Ok, it's an RSS reader which I sync with my Feedly account. I can't live without RSS. It has a function built in readability in app so u can sometimes open up the article fully in the app. And if the article still do not look ok, u can open it up in IE straightaway. It can share to Pocket to read later or u can use ita built in Favorites to read later. Can share to popular Social Sharing sites too., and email. Sorry can't link to the app, I'm on the delicious Lumia 1520. |

QUOTE(DoX @ May 3 2014, 09:04 PM) Says mine is already purchased. Those who claimed the earlier store credit are not eligible. Those who missed it the first time around should try. This is a direct link for the UK Nokia Gift Voucher app: http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=18bca5...e1-1501b4863f74 |

Nokia gift voucher you can only redeem one time only. The system will recognized your email account once you try to redeem it
Over time battery usage had improved with 8.1. Now on idle with email, n some feeds actively refresh it is now slightly under 1%/hour vs 3-4% previously This post has been edited by benny888: May 4 2014, 12:21 PM |

I don't use the file manager for that, I just connect to PC, copy Office documents to Documents folder in Internal Memory. That's enough for the docs to show up in Office. Even PDF you can put any folders on your SD Card since Adobe Reader can open any folders on it.With Pocket File Manager (PFM), I could but have to do the follow steps: 1. Ok your use case is very different from mine haha. I just occasionally have some stuff I might wanna view or edit only. Even then I usually just drop it into my Dropbox or OneDrive, then download it & do my editing. |
