"for those connecting cai hose directly to ur oem airbox, try not to face the inlet of ur cai hose towards rushing air... rushing air pressure coming in from outside is so great that it can cancel off the vacuum pressure inside ur intake manifold, causing it to lose power at high rpm... ..."

I dun get u....what vacuum ur talking abt? is there vacuum in the intake section?? sweat.gif

yes, there is a vacuum pressure inside ur intake manifold... this is applicable for all NA engines... forced induction engines have positive boost, where they use turbine to spool/force air into the intake manifold...

vacuum exist because ur engine piston is pushing exhaust gas out... a normal 4 stroke engine has intake stroke, compression stroke, power stroke and exhaust stroke... during intake stroke, pistons move downwards and valves open... this creates a low vacuum pressure, which sucks in air from outside into ur engine... fuel is mixed with air prior entering into ur engine for next combustion cycle...

dont worry... it wont kill the engine so easily... what u gonna do with the hose to ur car??... smile.gif

oh master catacombs notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif laugh.gif
after months of searching a place to install the CAI hose, I decided to install the damn thing on my own. I didn't have the tools to remove the front bumper but I managed to improvise using the side fog light...you'll understand once you see my photos at the Wira Thread - post #1337 (seriously) tongue.gif

the air going into the hose is mostly blocked by the metal piece in front of it (tied to it as well) so there's less worry about the "cancel off the vacuum pressure inside ur intake manifold" rite?

no need respect me la... i also noob only... sweat.gif

the air going in is infact vr strong... i not sure if it will cancel off the vacuum pressure inside intake manifold... thats what some other sensei told me... me myself havent tried before as i'm now using open-pod system.... so, its up to u guys to do trial n error to see which setup suits u best... smile.gif
