Tsunade-sama maybe but if I recall correctly, only a select few can be a medical ninja so I think that's a better indication of what element they are. I think probably due to training with Tsunade-same, that's why Sakura become so strong.

i think naruto has a lot of chakra, strong internally, can learn fast but he's not so quick in the mind. don't think he's really stupid, he just doesn't like to use his brain most of the time.

even battle also cannot determine winner sometimes. as you know, the weaker opponent will find a way to counter the stronger opponent's best move, shield his weakness, fight in place that gives him advantage etc.

it was a side story in the manga. then the anime made an episode about it but lengthen the story. in the manga, they only tried to take off the mask at the ramen shop only. in the anime, it was on the mission as well.

actually, i notice the fillers actually go through the storyline faster. only the real anime from the manga has a lot of flashbacks, mostly to explain the background of all the players.

i think that's what will stop Shikamaru from actually becoming hokage. he's willing to work but usually, he's not bothered. so he'll make a good advisor and/or guardian/expert but wouldn't be good at being the head. still think naruto will end up with that position.

shikamaru's evident weakness is his lack of attacking jutsu. can see that his jutsus consist of shadow binding techniques. he IS beatable as evident by his loss during the chuunin exams. just that he probably will realise his loss before the opponent will deal the final blow.

he'll probably be the first to retire. and go play shougi everyday with the old men in the village.

totally agree. dunno why would they want to kill off him also. better to keep him around i think anyways, so far only characters who are old are killed off (as far as i can think). so it doesn't look likely that Asuma will be killed off.
