Alex posting on LondonB was on 11 March 2014 la.

When it comes to TA, usually, older dated TA cannot be used.
It's like biscuits, you leave it out in the open, it masuk angin jor... laugh.gif

TA write ups is really so much like weather forecast.
They based it on the current data at that time (in this case, many, many days ago)
With stocks being traded daily, trading data changes....
sometimes like weather, there could be massive changes in the data, which forces the weatherman to change their forecast.

Therefor, I think it's not right you hold Alex's TA resistance level as TP today.

7126, I mentioned to FooFoo that this company is creepy.

Alex however wrote:

In the past 3 years, Lonbisc had disposed off its investment in two listed companies involved in the production of eggs. In 2010, it sold off its 23.86%-stake in Lay Hong Bhd to QL Resources Bhd for RM11.852 million (at a small loss of RM130,000). In 2011, it sold off its 33.65%-stake in TPC Plus Bhd to Huat Lai Resources Bhd for RM8.075 million (at a small loss of RM400,000). With these disposals, Lonbisc has freed up its financial resources and can concentrate in its core businesses.

On one hand what he wrote is factually correct but it doesn't tell the whole story.

Last time, there was a big hoo-ha over London Biscuit's dealings.
They would simply invest in a company...
and then .... they would sell.
At a loss too! doh.gif

We, the outsiders, had no idea what the F***** this company is doing.

It was such a big thing that there were even writeup on the newspapers....

http://www.thestar.com.my/Story/?sec=b&fil...iness%2F9641589

This one was also a good example for investors not to rely soley on PER.

Actually I think they made the right decision. TPC Plus aint making money and now already PN17.
*
TPC Plus WAS already losing money, in a bad financial state when London Biscuit bought it !

You can easily find so much data from Uncle...

http://www.thepoultrysite.com/poultrynews/...takeover-of-tpc

That was posted 9 April 2010.

TPC profit report before 9 April:

http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed...uncements/60001

Already losing money, LonBis also simply buy.

Therefor it doesn't matter if TPC is already Pn17.
LonBis should not have invested in it in the first place.

Is it possible that LonBis wanted something that TPC held?
*
At first some thought so.
They assume there were some synergies in the business.
Biscuit and eggs go hand in hand ma...

But then London Biscuit also bought a much better egg company, Lay Hong.

If you read the earlier Star article:

QUOTE
This is not the first time that London Biscuits has made a wrong bet on a listed egg producer. In November 2006, it bought 11.18% equity in Lay Hong Bhd. It continued accumulating Lay Hong shares until July 2010. A month later, London Biscuits announced that it had sold its entire shareholding (23.86%) in Lay Hong to QL Resources Bhd. The loss from the disposal: more than RM130,000.
LonBis also became a laughing stock cos when Lay Hong was sold, Lay Hong shares went boom boom up.

doh.gif

There was another 'investment'... let me search.

Khee San starting to look appetising, say analysts

0 0 Google +0 0 0 comments

BISCUIT maker Khee San Bhd may be making its way back to retail investors' watchlist, stock chartist and analysts said yesterday.

The stock has been up by more than 30 per cent over a 12-month period, closing at a 52-week peak on January 16 at 60 sen a share.

More importantly, stock marker theorist noted that the stock has begun trading above its 30-day moving average.

"It is always a good sign when on an upward movement, the stock's daily average volume is above its 30-day moving average," a chartist said.

Yesterday, some 245,000 Khee San shares were traded while the stock's trading average over a 30-day period stood at about 233,000 shares.

"Purely on a trading platform, I believe that the daily average volume of a stock below 30 sen should be at least 10 million to gain the attention of the broader market," said Edmund Tham, the research head at Mercury Securities.

When asked on Khee San, Tham said he cannot go into specifics, but the rule of the thumb is that if a stock that has been out of the broader retail market is to have a sustained rally, it should have at least one of the three potential news worth factors.

"It could be remarkable improvements in the company's financials, emergence of a new shareholder or significant change in business direction," said Tham.

Khee San shares, which closed three sen higher at 57 sen a share, has thus far not openly showed if any of the factors mentioned by Tham are in play.

A quick look at its financials reveals that for the first quarter ended August 2013, Khee San posted sales of RM25.03 million versus RM21.71 million previously while pre-tax profit stood at RM1.147 million versus RM1.02 million before.

That being said, the last time Khee San shares were mentioned in the press was in 2011 when rumours emerged that its only substantial shareholder, London Biscuits Bhd, with a 33.65 per cent stake, was looking to increase its stake.

Khee San is seen as a jewel in crown of London Biscuits and despite trading at around 57 sen a share now, Khee San has a net tangible asset value of RM1.61 a share.

The Board of Directors ("BOD") of LONBISC are pleased to announce that the Company had on 17 September 2007 signed a Sale & Purchase Agreement dated 17 September 2007 between KHEE SAN REALTY & HOLDINGS SDN BHD (“KSRH”) for the Proposed Acquisition of 18,420,300 ordinary shares of RM1.00 each in KHEESAN representing approximately 30.7% of the enlarged issued and paid-up share capital of KHEESAN (‘the said Sale Shares”) for a total cash consideration of RM27,630,450.00.

This Edge article: http://www.theedgemalaysia.com/highlights/...-san-stirs.html

QUOTE
Lonbisco remains Khee San’s single largest shareholder with its 32.87% shareholding.

Lonbisco surfaced in Khee San four years ago after acquiring a 30.7% stake via a direct business transaction on Oct 24, 2007, before growing its stake to the current 32.87% (19.72 million shares).

When Lonbisco bought into Khee San, it drew criticism for buying at about RM1.50 per share, a steep premium to the latter’s then share price of about RM1. Note that Khee San’s current share price of about 45 sen is now less than a third of Lonbisco’s purchase price.

Investors will be now watching Lonbisco’s next move on Khee San since the former has disposed of its interest in TPC Plus this year for RM8.08 million, and stake in poultry player Lay Hong Bhd last year for RM11.87 million.

A Lonbisco spokesman had earlier told The Edge Financial Daily that the group had no intention of selling Khee San and its wholly-owned subsidiary Kinos Food Industries (M) Sdn Bhd.

An analyst said Khee San appears to be a suitable fit with Lonbisco’s core business of manufacturing cake-based products as the latter expands its product offerings and brands.

“By comparison, the two disposed poultry and egg companies (Lay Hong and TPC Plus) provided less synergy to Lonbisco. While eggs are used in cakes, the poultry companies do not contribute a substantial portion of Lonbisco’s ingredient base”, he said.

“Egg production needs large economies of scale to be profitable as the margin is only about one sen per egg. It is more worthwhile for Lonbisco to buy eggs than to produce them,” he added.

With eggs and vertical integration out of the way, could Lonbisco set its sights on growing its brands and products?

If that is the case, would it aim to grab a bigger slice of Khee San, now that its shares are trading at around one-third of Lonbisco’s earlier entry price and the book value?

hmm.gif

Bought Khee San at 1.50.

Khee San today is only 65 sen!
