Yes, fake..

His Persona's gearbox rosak, now dunno what's the latest news. Maybe now driving the sports car Myvi or the super car Vios.
*
due to some oil. having similiar problem. but mine not as serious as his. dunno why. haha. therefore it is not recommended to use other atf. better stick back to our proton or petronas.

Purposely very lightfoot isit? laugh.gif yah need few tanks to verify
Not so sure...will help u ask.shud b at the pan area...
*
i think this is very wrong for replying after so.............long.
hmm, the previous fc yes, i am very very very super light foot because very scared of the damage i cause if i heavy foot.
but my trip is much lesser now. I do feel the car not getting the low end torque in 4th gear like it have last time.
but otherwise is still good. which means my city driving actually not that affected. just that I am a frequent highway.
now I had to dump my persona at home. Satu minggu jalan dua hari coz I dun have additional budget to spend on to repair the car or to change car now.
Thx god I am blessed, I am given a toyota to drive now. So this solve a lot of my problem.
Btw, you may look at my fc figures, its not that badly damaged I assume. maybe just a bit.
Thanks for telling me about it if not I think I will still be driving with it and damaging my gearbox further.
I am changing my oil again soon even though it only run less than 10k km. I will see if there is any abnormal color or sludge by then.

QUOTE(kausar @ Apr 3 2014, 10:40 AM)
proton note that all cfe cannot use x1r anymore becoz will build up sludge. how about normal iafm campro?
*
just dun use. no point using. Since got money to spend on X1R why not spend it on better engine oil.
as always, I will say caltex is very very good in protection and silencing the car. Maybe castrol is ok but make sure is genuine. addictive just forget about it.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Apr 3 2014, 11:11 AM)
Can any owner check where this 2nd clear tube outlet from the radiator water reserve container goes to? Is it going directly out to the ground floor as nothing is connected at the end of the clear tube? Found the clear tube end facing towards the metal comp of the car after car repair. Adjusted the tube to face directly down towards the ground if waters comes out of it. Is it correct?
*
is normal coz some people dunno for what reason fill their water lvl to max.

Dear all sifu~ After got new car, is it wise to use it for long distance travel immediately (highway)? Good or bad?
*
no real statistics to show it is good or it is bad. for mine I travelled highway too when it is new.

QUOTE(Beogatts @ Apr 15 2014, 04:40 PM)
If anyone able to share their journey with persona.

My PE is 140k KM of mileage n its 2010 made (MT).
what major things ive changed recently:

-IAFM
-lightened crank pulley (poisoned) + underdrive belt
-head gasket

not sure what i have missed, but other major things were changed before 130k:

-timing belt
-brake disc

kindly share so that all the persona users can be aware of parts to change. Thanks smile.gif
*
parts to change differ as different people different wear and tear. some people have different demand.
Mine is 2009 with 127k km. what i have always do is change engine oil, change gear oil. well most are maintainance.
of coz timing belt and those belt belt thing also changed edi.

anyway, why changed your head gasket? and brake disc?

QUOTE(Beogatts @ Apr 16 2014, 04:45 AM)
Head gasket changed coz got licking at engine head. Mayb coz i use it daily driving 110kmh.

Brakedisc is wear n tear. Mine was nipis edy..eaten by perf brake pads..
*
hmm, mind to know what brand of performance brake pad you using?
coz mine is still fine till now. i am using rapid stop for front and ultrex for the rear.
i am also very frequent highway speed so I dun think is because of that you got leaking. normally leaking should be due to you high rev or maybe can say is somehow considered wear and tear.

0k - 20k mileage, proton stock bpad. 20k - 65k , used rapid stop. 65k - 92k normal pad mintye i think (still got half).
92k found my discs were like this ][  so i bought brembo standard discs together with pads (wanted to feel like fresh  sweat.gif  )
mine is b-line & non-sv so no rear disc.

n yea i consider its wear n tear, i rev smtimes only when goin back to hometown n karak highway. max rev rpm 5.5k. but going work daily max rev 4k rpm which i dunt think it is high for macam pro engine.
also travelled alot. s'ngor to south, north, north east (wife's kampung) & east (my kampung) of pen msia. even reached songkhla.
*
i see. maybe no rear disc lead to more wear and tear to the front disc. not really sure. but my disc brake from 0k mileage use until 40k. if rev in city until 4k can understand. highway if top gear at 4k means 150kmh. also, you are having LCP and still need to rev so high meh?
dun really matter of your max rev how much. is the frequent rev you are in. if i sometimes rev redline but most of the time low rev, i assume those always rev high will have higher wear. but always drive below 2.5k rpm.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Apr 16 2014, 04:12 PM)
For auto, I rarely exceed 3.7k rpm, that is already at 140km/h. You daily also already reach over 4K rpm... sweat.gif
*
hahaha, i assume is in city.

QUOTE(iskazulka @ Apr 16 2014, 04:13 PM)

brand new set of front rotors, how nuch?

last time is both rear door, then both front door and now left driver side door..
*
if you getting original proton set outside is around Rm200 only. and its new and thick. not worth getting it skimmed.
if your car does not come with all 4 disc brake and you have high demand on brake maybe this is the time to upgrade also.
a good brand performance rotor can be around Rm450 i suppose. Also for brake pad, price, brand, and performance are sometime not connected well.
Some high price good brand but no performance, some no brand but high price high performance, some seek a balance in between.
Rm160 should be able to get you high temperature pad of at least 550'c.

i'm interested here. was going to service my car next month and thinking not to use the stock air filter and spark plugs anymore..

i'm surveying K&N or Works air filter; Denso or NGK spark plugs.. do u guys mind to let me know more about them? hmm.gif thanks
*
spark plug, iridium power is meant for Power. not meant for too long like cavino say.
unless you are racer, basically it can last 50k km without problem.
mine is still ok after using 50k km. just that i changed it just to make sure have optimal performance.
denso and ngk, for me, is just brand. unless they have huge gap in price.

it looks bad...the denso sp i used for 50k+ km still look golden and no dark burnt marks.

hmm. normally whats the reason it become like that?
I got no idea. maybe something not functioning well in my engine? or maybe I have firestorm?

so what is the outcome?
i din open but i saw a big gap between the light and windscreen..
somehow its not the gap create sound, more like inside of it

hard to be like conti lah. unless you are driving the suprima or preve i think their car will have conti feel if do good soundproof.
but still, I think it works wonder in your car.

QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ May 5 2014, 11:24 PM)
hmm.gif Biggest problem in soundproofing I think would be the wind noise. Don't think there's much we can do if there's a design flaw for the windows or a bad design that causes quite a bit of wind noise. During my trip to Ipoh my passenger complained about some noise coming from the rear right window that sounds like a window not shut completely. I googled about this and I don't think it's a common problem for Personas. Maybe my window seals are old.
*
true also. if the rubber seal can't match the soundproof then that area will be making noise of course. some ppl have done good soundproofing and even rubber sealing but the fact that the soundproofing is good make him hate the car window. Maybe is around time to change the rubber seal edi.

QUOTE(nickzkuso @ May 6 2014, 09:54 AM)
normally it only happen during cold day...haha..maybe when hot time, the screw mengembang..haha
indeed..and the chassis rigidness oso play the part lo..
*
true. that is why there are feedback on the chassis foaming of reducing road noise I think.
