1st - 3.538
2nd - 1.913
3rd - 1.333
4th - 1.028
5th - 0.820

So much difference between 1st gear and 2nd! Can mod 2nd gear make ratio higher a bit? And mod 5th to be lower?

imho the gearing are quite decent when efficiency is concerned.

even on rough touge trips, i find the gearing not too bad, especially after the ecu mod thanks to k3 that i have more rpm's to work with.
like k3 said, not easy to mod the gear ratios anyways so i'd rather just adapt to the gearbox than the other way around.

Although thinking about it, the ratios may seem to be geared for performance anyways laugh.gif

My guess is u dont really know well about engines.. And those are common mods for oldskul 4G63 and 4G92 engines that u learn from others ppl comment tongue.gif

Yeah,.. those days and ppl still do these days. 4G93 1.8 putra or GTI engine with Mivec high compression piston. Lower with 0.8 or 0.4mm gasket + Mivec wiring loom. Add F/C or pigy back to tune the air and fuel ratio. Put up good fight with the VTECs.

So i guess same logic doesnt apply with new technology engines these days because most things are pre programed?

Nope .. not its not applicable.. just not on our engines.
4B series are aluminum blocks .. its not BORE friendly ..
and u wont find any stroke kit around .. stroke kit normally build for performance engine where there are potential then manufacturer will build..
althought 4B11T (EVO / RALLIART) sounds like the same block as 4B11 .. but it is a totally different beast. the 4B11T crank is 4mm thicker than the one in ours.. so it is impossible to put int evo internal parts (which most after market mod parts like stroke kit , extra strength piston all comes from) ..
even our fren here tried to find harder valve spring also headache.. not to says stroke kit.

Yet our engine head is also Allunminium .. unlike the older days .. BUKA .. bengkok .. kasih skim ... Allu head u can skim ONCE only .. after that .. kiss it good bye .. buy new head..

4B10 already having high compression piston .. unless u willing to go RON97 all the time.. some of our members are still having issue with knocking (heavy engine oil + hot temperature are a bad combination) .. and yet still wanna go higher compression ? Not worth the money bro ..

Putra and GTI are totally a different league .. with a smaller size body and that amount of power on the engine.. u will sure have fun
