This is definitely the way to go IMO but unfortunately some teams really do abuse this 'pause for rc' privilege by pausing during team fights, only to turn the table against the initiating team since they are no longer caught off guard and are able to pre-planned their subsequent moves.

It's even more frustrating when your team is on the losing end and had to rely on these hit and run turtle strategy.

that's where the abuse part comes in.
since the dc is intentional.

most frustrating part is when you actually cared to ping + type + mic comm to warn about incoming ganks and wards and your team still got caught less than 10s after that.
