Real Madrid Club de Fútbol

About the Club

Real Madrid Club de Fútbol (commonly known as Real Madrid or Madrid) is a Spanish sports club best known for its football team. It is the most successful team in the world and has even been named "The Best Club of the 20th Century" by FIFA in 2000, having won a record 31 La Liga titles, 17 Spanish Cups, a record 9 European Cups and 2 UEFA Cups. Founded in 1902, Real Madrid has since spent all of its history in the top flight of Spanish football. The club's home colours are their legendary all white and they play their home games at the 80,354-capacity Santiago Bernabéu football stadium. Unlike most European football clubs, Real Madrid's members (socios) have owned and operated the club since its inception.

The Crest

user posted image

The first crest of Real Madrid had a simple design consisting of a decorative interlacing of the three initials of the club, "MCF" for Madrid Club de Fútbol, in dark blue on a white shirt. The first change in the crest occurred in 1908 when the letters adopted a more streamlined form and appeared inside a circle. The next change in the configuration of the crest did not occur until the presidency of Pedro Parages in 1920. At that time, King Alfonso XIII granted the club his royal patronage which came in the form of the title "Real", roughly translated as "Royal". Thus, the crown was added to the crest and the club styled itself Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. With the dissolution of the monarchy in 1931, all the royal symbols (the crown on the crest and the title of Real) were eliminated. The crown was replaced by the dark mulberry band of the Region of Castile. In 1941, two years after the end of the Civil War, the "Real Corona", or "Royal Crown", was restored while the mulberry stripe of Castile was retained as well. In addition, the whole crest was made full color, with gold being the most prominent, and the club was again called Real Madrid Club de Fútbol. The most recent modification to the crest occurred in 2001 when the club wanted to better situate itself for the twenty-first century and further standardize its crest. One of the modifications made was changing the mulberry stripe to a more bluish shade.

The Kit

user posted image

Real Madrid's traditional home colours are all white. The clubs' nicknames "Los Blancos" ("The Whites") and "Los Merengues" (after the dessert meringue) were influenced by it. The kit initially adopted a blue oblique stripe on the shirt; but unlike today, dark blue socks were worn. The striped shirt was replaced by an all-white version, modeled after the shirt worn by Corinthian F.C. in 1902. In the same year, the blue socks were replaced by black ones. By the early 1940s the manager changed the kit again by adding the club's crest on the left breast (which have remained ever since). On 23 November 1947, in a game against Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano Stadium, Real Madrid became the first Spanish team to wear numbered shirts.

Madrid's traditional away colours are all black or all purple. The club's kit is currently manufactured by Adidas and their current shirt sponsor is bwin.com

both sevilla and sociedad are unpredictable teams... i watched sevilla play barca few weeks ago n first 20 minutes sevilla totaly dominated barca n should have been atleast 3-0 ahead.... we need to be patient and take our chances later in the game.. we cannt concede early goals

i didnt watch the game but i have a feeling that having jese wont help much. isco will had he played from the start. amazing what a defeat against your arch rivals can do to your mentality. real madrid are suffering from it.

for me.. having alonso and illara playin together not the best tactics, they got same style, also, illara still in learning phase.. his reaction quite slow.. we need fast pace player like di maria to break the parking bus team sweat.gif

this lost means
la liga is over for RM.
they had peak in the middle of the season.
while barca seems to peak at this last quarter.

hoped that ATM won la liga. gave some freshness from the duopoly.
i somehow hate the current TV rights system as its damaging la liga
by RM and UEFALONA duopoly.

i kind of agree with the illara and alonso assessment. i thought they are too similar to play together. illara is a like for like replacement for xabi, and he's no shuttler like di maria. wonder if casemiro would be a better choice.

how do you comment on ronaldo? on one hand, his selfishness is the reason why real madrid are scoring. on the other, he is berated for trying too hard to score, do it all by himself most of the time. this all points to his average decision making. i get what you mean, i have seen him play and there are many times when he could play in someone for a better goal scoring opportunity but chose to go at it alone. thing is, i have seen that from bale, benzema and morata too. isco as well. maybe its a team thing. too anxious to be important for the club that team play suffers. sacrifice is needed, just like xabi. it has been a long time since he last scored.

situation right now reminds me of the juande ramos time in charge. won all until the classico, and then all came apart.

yeay i know that . . sometimes i do feel pity for other teammate if they already have open space to score goal but still Ronaldo didn't pass the ball yet trying to score for himself . . haihh . . besides , there's also bonus for them if they score a goal . . memang berebut2 nak score goal lah . . haha

illara and xabi , both style of play is same . . contain the opposition , keep hold in the midfield area and spray passes to the strikers . .

well . . we still have champions league and copa del rey . . but let's do hope we manage to get treble this season . . rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

we should not lose hope at this moment. the liga title will be hard but real madrid must keep their winning mentality on. it was a poor game against sevilla. attack, midfield, defense and perhaps with the goalie there is a little problem. we must keep calm and get it fixed asap.

If Ancelotti keep playing 4-3-3 . . then no use keeping Ozil . . see Isco right now . . playing out of his usual position and looks like underperform lor . .

playing 4-3-3 against top teams is nt working... bale benzema n ronaldo are nt tracking back leaving our 3 midfielders overruned by opposition... againt barca, we must folow atletico's style n pack the midfield in a 4-4-2 formation which means one of the forward three players must b sacrified..

so a 442 will presumably pack the midfield and the midfield will not be overrun. first, there would be 2 banks of 4 and leaving 2 upfront which surely brings us to the point where there is not enough firepower when the goals do not come. secondly, there would be a lack of width, forcing the game to be played in the center midfield area. good teams will exploit whatever space they can find. that is assuming the midfield 4 are all central midfielders since its the midfield you are concerned with if 3 can be overrun. if you put 2 wingers in your midfield, probably jese and di maria, then that leaves you with only 2 midfielders centrally. it will be overrun all the same.

i think 442 with with 3 midfielders plus di maria should b ok bt none of the three midfielders are goalscoring type... we need someone like koke in atletico who can defend n go frwrd scoring goals at the other hand...

di maria is out from tonite's game... combine with coentrao ter , i think ters no width at all from the left flank. isco or illara should replace him but both of them are diff kind of players isco starts....

true true..I think both is good/bad. I like it when Casillas quickly rushes out for the saves.. but sometimes he comes out too early and gets caught out farely easy or gets sent off. I think Lopez is more comfortable staying between the sticks because of how tall he is.. but then again he needs to rush sometimes.

morata took his chance well, cool finishing.
isco is a bit worrying. looks like he's an upgrade on ozil but looks too nonchalant. he is capable of moments of genius. players like him, if they are pressed to be more hardworking, they might lose what made them a genius in the first place.
now, we dont want our team to become like chelsea or the past real madrid, do we?

we just need one away goal.. the last time we failed to score away from home was when we lost 1-0 to lyon in 2010 rclxms.gif

48 goals in 22 away games from then onwards

Down to 2-0.. As expected when playing just holding back the ball and feel comfort with 3 goals advantages. Hmmm

lousy performance.. we don't deserve to go thru from this kind of performance. Luck was on our side and 2nd half break came just on time as we really need it to regroup and lessen the mounting pressure.

like i said before.. imo having them playing together with same style play will make the gameplay boring.. also u cannot have 2 xavi or 2 iniesta in barca team, the player like fabregas will be wasted, illara need a time to be glue to the team, he's a perfect replacement for alonso, but still need time.. i think CA need to rotate isco and casemiro, illara just can replace as a sub for alonso.. btw.. i missed khedira laugh.gif

indeed xabi=illara. Somehow last night, he was way below par, maybe this is the 1st time he played with such a pressure. In fact, IMO master Xabi is currently performing under par. The only midfielder that is consistent is Modric.

I do believe if we have CR7 last night, we will be a diff team. So many chances wasted.

yup a deserved defeat , though it could have gone madrids way also.
dortmund keeper is superb last night.

ancelotti got it wrong i suppose. casemiro & isco should be in starting line up.
all the attackers seems selfish most of the times.

I have to say I'm not very pleased. I hate watching teams who seat back and defend, especially my team. We were lucky and unlucky at the same time.. keep slipping every time there was a goal chance, can laugh about it now tho and both goals were started by bad back passes.

real madrid emphasized on possession when ancelotti came in. whether its passing in the midfield or midfield to defence. that is to be expected since the front 3 are all tailored mostly for counter attacks with speed.

tell me, had real madrid gone attacking at BvB, and with BvB's superb transition play, would real madrid have survived this? that is, we still havent taken into account the defence, which is not the best among european teams. how real madrid paid the price for backpasses gone astray. had real madrid gone attacking like they did in bernabeu, reus, mikhtaryan and lewandowsky would feel like they are in disneyland.

carlo ancelotti knows best, even though his team suffered heavily in the first half. isco coming on gave real madrid a little more control i guess.

That's what we were missing to be honest. Good possession.
All we had was touches and back passes, but too many wasted passes. Counter attacking is one thing, but to sit back and absorb like Mou did in his time here waiting for a chance to strike back is just not going to work. There were lots of moments when all we had forward was 2 players with 4 people surrounding them. Aside from individual brilliance, that often doesn't give results tho.

when you have a 3-0 advantage, you'd want to hang on to that as much as you can. absorb and hit on the counter is a proper game plan for this match. BvB had to come out all guns blazing, and what better than to hit them on counter attacks while sitting back and protecting the goal. yes, real madrid aspires to play possession football, but they are not well oiled like barcelona on this part of the game. real madrid cannot yet play the patient passing game and 1-2 their way into opposition area. remember that they came from a mourinho era, where transition was their main game. its hard to shirk that off. BvB is good in hitting fast, pressing high and create space for themselves in tight situations. you have to give dortmund some credit. they are a really impressive side. we havent even mentioned their injury crisis yet.

my point is, there is really only so much real madrid can do.

yup kinda agree with this . + its ancelotti 1st year in charge and most of the squad is inherited from mourinho system. though i kinda hate it when their counter attacking is not as good as mourinho times.
last nite Ancelotti got it wrong by placing illara . its game likes this that we need a solid DM like khedira who can steadily cover the back four. and he shouldve put casamero as 1st lineup , that kid is good real good.

last nite was not so bad , its just jitters and 3 stupid mistake by illara , pepe and di maria.
if the penalty was on it couldve been a different story.

+ dortmund played like it was their final full credit to them and madrid thought it was against a team a la real sociedad doh.gif . I have a funny feeling before the game and yup it happen again we falter again with games like this where you play by your heart . Though this could be a very good lesson before their real test on the semi`s and copa del rey final.

though i dont see Rm winning anything this year. hope im totally wrong.

That's what I said. Absorbing is usually the idea, but the problem is that defending usually = more chances on goal for the attacking team, which more often than not (agaisnt bigger teams) = goals conceeded. Dortmund played a good pressing game it's just that we were lacking defensively. The problem we had yesterday was just being too scared to do anything, especially the first half. I believe even Ancelotti said it on the post matcher. You can tell that a team like RM who always stretches play out on the wings getting forced to play a much narrow game. IMO Dortmund was just lucky to hit their stride yesterday and we made it kinda easy for them too.. their season wasn't as impressive as yesterday's game showed.

i agree that fear played a part in the loss. maybe the penalty miss got to the players but i think what they feared the most was the speed at how dortmund hit them in the opening minutes.
to defend in a narrow shape is normal. that is how you close space and force the opponents to go to the flanks, where damage can be limited. the defenders would have more chances defending crosses. that said, BvB still found their way through (mikhtaryan miss) and that shows you how good BvB is. we made it easy for them because of the 2 mistakes, lapse in concentration. reus is a quite underrated player. to finish by going between the legs of ramos is no easy thing.

contrary to what you believe, BvB did exceptionally well in their season considering the injury blight that they have. their game has a philosophy, much like Everton under roberto martinez. philosophy is what is eluding real madrid right now, for the time being. caught between mourinho's team and possession game they want and aspire to.

the general reception of the fans, they prefer solid defending high pressing counter attack of mourinho or possession game, quick pass and counter attack of don carlo?

i think the fans in this thread prefer the latter. actually i think the fans want it all. press high, quick passes, the 1-2s, solid defending and the lightning fast counter attacks like in previous seasons. those counter attacks were really a thing of beauty. very quick and precise. but there is only so much a team can do during a transition year.

in my opinion, there is 1 obstacle for real madrid to be playing possession game. i think the players they bought emphasized that they want to play possession game. players like isco and illaramendi came in and they play their passes neat, from what i saw in the under 21 games. modric seems suited to the style.

real madrid performed much better when xabi alonso returned from his injury. he is the player who thrives on the longer passes which kicks off the counter attacks from the front 3. the recent decline in real madrid's performance is due to his fatigue. but at the same time, i think real madrid should slowly phase him out because i thought he is slightly hampering madrid in possession play. i think he is rather slow and a little clumsy but his reading of the game more than made up for his weaknesses. personally, i would like to see ancelotti try playing illaramendi by himself in the base of the midfield trio. it might not work out well, but i think you will see more controlled passing in the midfield. you dont quite often see illaramendi going into tackles but he snaps at those with the ball in his zone, if you know what i mean.

another is the front 3. they are playing so high up, except for crucial games where they need to put in a shift to defend, that their mindset is ready anytime to pounce on counters. slight exception to benzema who could move quite well off the ball. what this creates is a very big and empty area in between the front 3 and middle 3. there is something like a disconnect there to be playing possession football. that is where isco could come in, in place of benzema. ancelotti has mentioned of isco playing the false 9 before.

and then, when real madrid is doing all these maybe one day, the club would then be accused of playing like barcelona, the arch nemesis, and become unhappy as well. pun intended.

because high pressing game and possession game cancel out each other..it also required different players to do it..and yes..the way Madrid buy players look like that they want to change to possession game..with Isco and Illara..but after that they bought Bale which more like a player for past paced counter attack..so that is why i'm not sure about how Real want to play..because possession game need time to open up space and will slow down the attack..agree with you that thats why Xabi Alonso is the catalyst for the counter attack play..he can cannon shot to the wide area and let the wingers do it.

me.. personally I prefer fast paced counter attack type of play.

i dont think high presses cancel out possession game. pressing high means you can win balls further up the pitch, which limits the opponents to track back and hence more space to work. see barca, they press high and still play possession game. there is a risk as well to this high press, where good teams can just bypass your pressing players and hit the defenders straight. BvB does it well, as well as real sociedad.

yes, bale is very efficient on the fast paced counter attacks. he is very direct in the sense that he's made up his mind whether to run or pass or shoot. no showboating and that makes his game efficient. with showboating like what ronaldo does, his mind cannot be opened to the players making good runs into spaces. its a love hate thing i guess.

Athletico won their tie might turn out to be a bad thing for them
It give advantage to barca in the league

If..if we can't win la liga
I rather have our neighbor winning it than barca

But now they don't have Champ league distraction as opposed to us and athletico

Bwahahahahah. Died of laughter seeing that one.

But man, Marc Bartra got SCORCHED by Bale. Despite even having the inside track and Bale almost in dangerous grounds.

I don't think Bale sprint as fast as he can though
I think he can run faster
Maybe Batra just too slow for him.haha

Unlike when he score hattrick against intermilan

Can't blame him. An extra 1 foot in the wrong direction and things would've ended badly. Brilliant recovery though. But agreed, we've seen faster in the Tottenham Shirt.

A really nervy match with the scoreline so close. If we were more clinical with our passing in the final 3rd, we would have scored more. MotM for me was Isco wub.gif . Boy was he immense tonite. And of course Bale...what else is there to say...that run was just phenomenal

I hope the boys don't get too carried away with this win. We have bigger fish to fry flex.gif

i think with Isco in midfield basically we played a 4-4-2 lineup with bale and benzema on their own .... wen ronaldo returns we will be back to 4-3-3 formation and the 3 midfielders need to work harder to protect the defence... n Isco will b benched

Indeed.. but every formation has pros and cons.. we indeed more organize in midfield and defense area.. but, our final third is not good enough.. IMO, if we use the same formation vs smaller team which compact and lay deep in defense.. i would say we will struggle..

Actually i would like to see we play 4-5-1 formation where wingers support in both attacking and defense. But, the time we use this formation, blistering speed of CR7 and Bale will be useless. That why we never use that formation me think.

Maybe Bale will come in later on and run Bayern ragged. Isco seems a more tactical choice on trying to pierce the Bayern defense.

Mhmmmm, at one point during the game... the commentator said that RM should play 4-5-1 instead of a normal 4-3-3. I kinda agree with that, clogging up their midfield and supporting the wings is the way to go I think.

but i think the problem is that cr7 plays on the wing. so it is not appropriate to play with 4-5-1 unless he is shifted to a more central role, but he does not seem to excel there

hmmm good point. It could work if he still plays on the wings seeing that we do get our defenders to run up a bit, with Modric, Xabi, DiMaria/Isco as more central and Bale as a lynchpin in attack on either side of Benz.. hmm.gif

dont know why im kept thinking the 1st leg CA just want to study how bayern play, we did not very well on first half, all defending and waiting the chance to counter only, only a bit laa.. at 2nd half we can have the ball and do 3-4 more dangerous attack on them.. just cant score more only.

for me tiki taka bayern is not complete yet.. there should more they can give, maybe they lack of creative players like xaviesta , nvm.. what i can say.. their weakness is when they lost fatigue.. drain energy.. that a chance we can take an advantages.

a parking bus not our style since barca being under pep with tiki taka style, now bayern dominate us on the field. fan will not be happy with this. This only happen when the match against them. Defend all the way yawn.gif

just pray for 2nd leg at least we can score early goal to demotivated bayern players smile.gif

PEp needs messi for his bayerlona to work.
and like peps barcelona their defense is weak.
weirdly enuff it was rock hard under heinckess.

last nite was all about Madrid defense
and..... ROBBEN. Im still enrage why the club sold him years ago.

BTW seing the team play like that yesterday remind me that ancelotti is an italian and were playing ala ac milan. unsure.gif

I beg to differ. I believe we did not park the bus. it was just that bayern tried to control possession and play with such high level of passing which make any teams hard to get their flow of play moving. hence, we are pretty limited in the options we have to bring the ball forward, resulting our movement to be available only at the break of play. late in the second half, when bayern did not press with intensity we have more control of the game and play our normal game. i believe we did not abandon our philosophy but we have to react to situations accordingly. A ferrari is used to speeding but if there were heavy rain you still need to slow down the car a little.

I don't really care on how we played.. the main thing is that, we get the result. We were assembled for a different type of play.. Yes. but IMO, if we play the team like Bayern, we need to get the tactic spot on.. I do believe tactic deployed by CA was the best. See how bayern was "controlled" by us. We cant sacrifice the result just to follow our Philosophy..

I do believe the same tactic will be used by CA.. defend and attack on the counter. Same with Pep, he will try a different tactic to bring down our defense.

if we can score 1 away goal in munich
they have to score 3

but the problem if they score first early
i scared we unable to absorb the pressure

To me.. BVB game was a whole lot different game. They are pressing high and defense deep which limited our movement and we always struggle to play with them. If Bayern keep on playing the same tactic as they have played on Wednesday. I can see we can hit them hard by our counter.. providing our defensive player keep their solid at the back.

1st goal is a must as both still can win the tie. Bayern be will going all out and if we manage to absorb the pressure in first 10-20 minutes.. we are good to go. Do not concede early. That the key.

Same as barca, you can expect the same percentage of possession for bayern in the return leg. But guardiola will have other ideas I am sure. Ball over the top of defence or simple overloading in attack, I dont know what he has up his sleeves. But real madrid will be scared for sure. Expect a more defensive lineup than usual. The previous barca encounters will creep into the heads of madrid.

Awesome game. Showed how a counter-attacking team should play with a solid defensive performance to boot. Clean sheet, No cards.. MY idea of a perfect game.

I don't know, sometime i feel that our youngster is more than ready to fill the senior's shoes. Whenever we fielded youngster with combination of senior, score margin seem to be greater.

tomoro's referee is pedro proenca from Portugal.. he supposed to officiate our 2011 SF 1st leg game against Barcelona... but this Uefalona complained to Uefa that he could be biased with our Portuegese connections.... so they appointed a German referee instead n the rest are history...

Well, there were reports stating Ribery has been horrendously off form.

But yeah, pretty Damn happy Modric, Di Maria have done this season after all they stick they got. Bale has put in a decent shift, great unselfish pass. Alonso...well, that was unnecessary.

i am still seething from the ribery slap on carvajal. love to see uefa bring down the hammer on him, but platini wont, i guess.

how utterly wrong was i, thinking real madrid would have been scared of guardiola's tricks up his sleeves. at first it was just a hint, but now, i think tito is the real brain behind barca's dominance. or was it messi?

xabi is a sad case, and i think the illaramendi in the final would be the unveiling of the new xabi alonso. if he is fielded.

i still think he is a top notch manager
he stick with his philosophy
but with barca he has the personal to execute it ie messi

dont get me wrong
bayern is a very good team
but ribery and robben is no messi

his mistake in my opinion is that he din play to his current team strength
instead, he tried to copycat and make barca 2.0

but for me a good manager is the one that can change his tactics and style of play to adapt to opponents weakness...and Don Carlo is surely one of them.

+99 on pep trying to change Bayern to Barca 2.0 and not playing to the strength of the team..why play tiki taka if they have ROBBERY !! laugh.gif

Real have the best squad, athletico have the best team.
Both team is still in contention to win liga and cl.
So coincidence the two best team in Spain is also two best team in Europe.
Credit to athletico. They manages to challenge so far with limited resources.

If have to choose I prefer cl than la liga, la decima has become obsession and thorn at our side.

Not to criticize their policy, but It can be a hit-and-miss way of doing business. The recruitments of Zidane or Cristiano Ronaldo are success stories but then there’s Kaka’s signing at the other end of the spectrum.

Btw there is called for San iker to be reinstate as our no1 to keeper for the remaining league games.
casillas need more game time
Have to agreed. He need more match to ready him for the final. perhaps a keeper rotation in the last remaining league.

feels really bad we did not managed to capitalize on atletico loss. valencia played really well. but i do felt real madrid was being too open in the game. I would like them to play a more solid, albeit a more slower game compared to this one. anyhow, hope we can win our remaining matches and finish this season on a high.

without modrid playing in middle, we lack the creative force.ilarra nor xavi wasnt to blame solely.isco supposed to stand out, and finding the space in front of the valencia defense.

but really motm, by distance is belong Diego Alves. If not from his string and solid saves, we already in front by half time.

If im not mistaken, math wise.. IF we win tonight, the result would be the same.. we still need Barca to beat AM to win the title. So no different win or draw.. no issue of not capitalize the AM loss.. Too bad our head to head record with AM.. sigghhh.. cry.gif

Treble is still on.

I don't think Barca will throw their last game to Atletico, because if they do that and RM lost their final game vs Espanyol, Barca will regret forever, lol.

Very hopeful for RM to win treble this season. next two games are away from home. very crucial,

padan muka Morata kena sound dengan CR7. memang tak best pun cara dia main. selfish and reckless (not just this game). in b4 he's still young. Jesé is miles better.

Ridiculous performance. First 20mins all good.. after a couple goals, started playing reckless.. shots going too high, crosses were too low. For sure kena sound in the dressing room. lol. Barca would take it to AM on the last day for sure.. there's so much diff finishing the league in 2nd than 3rd.

Illara right now is nt the replacement for Alonso.. He will be easily out-muscled by Tiago and Gabi in the final..

Why not we go into creative approach by field isco instead of illara.. De maria-Modric-Isco in the finale (which everyone is require to track back every time we are on defensive mode).. illara is really a unfinished product and IMO he need another season of two to up to standard.

but that is abit risky as well. the three of them need to be really disciplined in order for that game plan to work. but i agree illara is still an unfinished product but i do see him reaching the heights of alonso one day.

i was really disappointed in the way we finish the last 20 minutes of the game. i guess the title chase is seriously over now. but to finish in such a way is really a bitter pill to swallow. conceded two goals from corner in two games. awful

Can't blame Illara, it was just unlucky. Blame the lack of urgency and inaccurate passes. When you're playing 80+min like it's a lazy sunday.. you're bound to mess up sooner or later

Benzema n Moratta upfront were just shocking...

n Illara just ducked n cost us the match..

im prefer sub alonso for illara, not sub out isco.. midfield clueless and dead when duo alonso playing together, set piece gol due to deflection from illara.. not to blame him.. but the thing is,, ca get it wrong again.. at least.. give chance to casemiro..

we really need to strengthen our striker next season.. without jese, benzema and morata still not compromising..

i think with the amount of injuries we are facing, better to start resting few players... di maria looks injured at the end, bale just cant play in 3 straight games n ronaldo's hamstring ... better rest them completely for the UCL final...

Title is really gone for serious.. we are the one who to be blamed. Let focus on the UCL.. with Illara in mind to replace Alonso.. I can clearly see what is coming.. He is clueless.. Just hoping someone can step up in Alonso shoe in the final. can't see anyone atm thou..

on the positive side.. we now can focus on the UCL alone.. while AM still need to work hard for the title.. hopefully with enough rest, our key player with firing with all cylinders on the finale. After all, double is not bad and wining the UCL is greatest dream of all..

Yea fair points. I think the Italian in Ancelotti really came out with the substitutions.. really defensive. Plugging holes. The bigger picture is that Nacho is no Carvajal, and Morata is no Cr7. I think that made out game rather narrow with no real option to play the wings like we're used to. Benz's form is alright I think. Morata's is almost nonexistent.. There's something about him that kinda seems like he doesn't want to play anymore.

finding scapegoats is easy right?
remember also that this is ancelotti's 1st season.
also that valladolid is fighting not to be relegated. 1 point for them means that they are out of the zone. everyone knows its hard playing against teams fighting for survival.

1st, illaramendi get the schtick. now benzema and morata.

then who is to be blamed for the dropped points?? benzema scoring one goal in last 12 games is pain to watch with morata atleast he n jese were fighting for one spot in the lineup n jese gt all the minutes especially in January and February... unfortunately he gt injured n we seriously lacked firepower in the bench since... morata just lacks confidence right now...

Its a team thing. It was against a tough opponent. If you are hell bent on blaming someone, illara for you, I am sure your favourite manager is mourinho. See how its always his strikers or someone when his team dont get a result.

Who should you blame? You can blame valladolid for having to fight off relegation.

It was a team fault.. no scapegoat what so ever.. and we just unlucky to concede with 5 minutes to finish thru set piece and plus.. we were already on the defensive mode..

Oh wow.. it gets me really annoyed when we play like this.
The conceding is fine, but the overall attitude is not something I like. Half heated attempts to play the ball.. awful passing game.. almost no penetration whatsoever. Seems like they gave up the league even before the kick-off.

As it has always been said all season long. Real Madrid are a team of supreme athletes. They will out muscle. Out pass. Out shoot. Out wit. And most of all out run the living hell out of opposition defences.

A.Madrid held on while Bayern crumbled. But in the end it doesn't even matter.

Congrats Real, La Decima is achieved. Best last 45 mins of football ever.

If Ronaldo wins the Club World a cup i think he would be the first player to win every single competition available with his former and current club.

1998 ? So you know how it feels like to win THREE european cup in 5 years(i think?) !
Galactico era (although i hate it) is the reason i support RM at first and stay on until today, just like Xabi said "Real Madrid are a club that suck you in and get you hooked".

nope, just rumours.
in - suarez (i hope not), vidal, pogba(great player), veratti.
out - casemiro (loan maybe), morata (loan or sell with buyback clause) and varane & ADM (although unlikely).

Kinda similar to Blackened for me... I remember Del Bosque's first year. I remember watching the UCL final against Juve in 98 on tv3 hahahha. school cuti, so I snuck out to watch. It was hard being a fan cause you don't get much info other than english clubs but TV always showed the UCL finals and watching zizou's volley. After that, I was hooked.

2003. i started to watch la liga matches live because tv9(before being bought by media prima) airs them during their first year in business. once you watch regularly, you will feels a conection between you and the club. unfortunately that was the perez's era and a dark one. but the wait had been worth it. rclxm9.gif

but rumours are spinning around this is our 3rd kit. According to the signature on the collar, seems pretty credible.
Thoughts?

This is our confirmed 3rd kit. It's designed by Yohji Yamamoto which explains the dragon. I dunno what dragons have to do with our club but I guess it's to appeal to the Asian market?

I still haven't decided which kit I'm gonna get for next season...But I'm most probably printing Sergio f-ing Ramos' number on it. flex.gif

that piece of junk is no makelele.
ancelotti wants him mostly likely for his energy. he is the box to box kind but a cheat who cost west brom a win at the bridge.
he will tarnish real madrid's good reputation of late. wrong buy for me.

^about to post the same thing.. what happen to our king iker? 3 out of 5 goal were clearly his fault.. that what worried me.. he was a blunder during CL final too.. losing his edge maybe due to having less game last season?.. I wont be surprise if del bosque drop him to bench next match.

Why did you think even Mou dropped him so long ago. Same like the Ozil saga. Both were idolized to a point people still don't see their shortcomings.

Spain's defense was terrible. Iker Casillas was responsible for the 3rd and 4th goal clearly.
3rd goal as usual, he loves to go forward and do dumb stuff without confidently know he can win the ball. about the same case as the UCL final.
4th goal.. Ramos pass to Casillas, very very poor touch by him causing the ball go so far than he anticipated.
Maybe he's way passed him prime already sad.gif

i would see the fourth goal as his fault. but the third goal was clearly a foul by van persie on casillas. what worries me more is his body movement, confidence and attitude seems very bad. his shot-stopping ability is still clearly evident but his decision and sharpness looks lacking.

3rd dutch goal was a foul no doubt. Just like what west ham's andy carroll did to liverpool keeper. Rvp went in 2 intentions, 1st was to try get something on the ball.....the other was to disrupt keeper.
But the dutch was the much better team. Fault of course lies with ramos, casillas but iniesta, xavi and silva are overrated this time around. Complacency and over confidence in the spanish camp?

Don't think that was a fault.. He was not even near the ball. His judgement was way off and if there was no disruption.. i don't think he can even punch the ball.. after all, now i started to believe why CA and Mourinho dropped him after what happened in CL and 1st match WC.. sad.gif sad.gif

maybe or maybe not. looked a foul to me.
but anyway, casillas may be on the decline. maybe. seeing that he didnt get many games in league just accelerated his drop of form. add to that the psychological impact of being dropped by mourinho.

The great barca era has come to an end with the departures of puyol, valdes, xavi and fabregas. I think there's no more room for these kind of players like xavi, mata, silva, xabi alonso. Fabregas can reinvent himself because he can be physical.
Trend now is players like vidal, pogba, cabaye in midfield. And we have 2, or at least 1 in modric and di maria. Boundless energy from them in defending and attacking. Thats why madrid wants ramirez. And it looks bad for isco and to a certain extent, illaramendi because of his similarity with xabi alonso. Unless both can reinvent themselves at madrid.
On a positive note, madrid interested in inigo martinez. He's got potential.

If the price is reasonable, it will be great signing compared to Suarez.

Falcao doesn't play on the left, predominantly or not, and you don't buy a 50-60mil striker to be a backup for benzema.

and here's to hoping illaramendi will beef up and get stronger because he already has the passing ability and positioning. beefing up and getting stronger will turn him into a complete midfielder like pogba, matuidi, vidal, and henderson to some extent.

Kroos 1 year left on his contract and getting him at 25m is not a bargain.
I personally think di maria should not be allowed to leave but he would fetch a lot of money. I get the sense that he is a little disgruntled with real madrid.

25 mil for who rated for 40-50mil is not a bargain? to me it was good enough. i don't think we can get any player with that kind of quality with that figure. Di maria want to leave. So i dont think there will be a u turn like last season. to me, i dont agree either. But if the player himself want to leave. Just let him leave.

ancelotti should really hang on to di maria. and even if he wants to leave, it should be on real madrid's terms. the amount of work he has put in week in week out is phenomenal.

Most if not all of us haven't watched him play. But I've read enough about him to know how significant he was to Real Madrid. He was and still is the best ever player to put on the white shirt. They say football isn't about one-man teams. Don Alfredo probably comes closest. He single handedly brought Real Madrid from winning nothing to winning it all. Our history which we madridistas like to parade about....wouldn't even exist without him.

Thanks for everything, Legend.

It seems Suarez to Barca a done deal.

So, how about Falcao to Madrid ? Done deal or not ? Hopefully we can sign him so that can put pressure on Benzema.

So guys, what do you think about James Rodriguez rumour ?
I dont think we need him atm.
And if ADM is leaving, we should chase Pogba imo. Perfect replacement i think.

Nope. Pogba will only be needed if Modric leaves or Kroos doesn't come and we need a replacement for Alonso. We already have illaramendi and Casameiro as backup. James would be the perfect foil if ADM leaves to fill that hole between att and mid. He can then switch positions with Bale, Ronaldo and Benzema easily.

I dont think so because Modric is a wizard and Pogba is a tanker imo (damn too much rpg sweat.gif ).

I heard casemiro will be loaned out, so only Illara is left for backup considering Khedira is leaving too.

But James never played at CM before and i dont think he will provide defensive like ADM. And dont forget, we have Isco too.

Nah, we already have two box to box midfielders in Kroos and Khedira so we are covered. Modric will be the attacking link between mid and att while the two Germans dictate play from the back.

I think Khedira would stay. Seeing his performance plus his crazy link up with Kroos in the recent WC, I think that's why RM swooped for him.

James would be AM. ADM was never strictly a cM anyways. When Modric and CR7 grows old, get rid of Benzema, and put in James, Jese and Isco. All 3 can play across the park. With a free roaming Bale, we good to go. Haha.

i just hope ancelotti approves of all these signing as he has a tactical reason to accomodate them. I remember in his interview he said it is hard to get the right players and play in a balance system he required.

James play in AM worrying me. We played with AM at the start of the season last season, we scored a lot and concede a lot too. Moreover, its unbalance according to Carlo. hmm.gif

And with arrival of James, Isco and Jese will have limited play time too. sad.gif

As clamp said I think Carlo can fit them all.

That's why we get Khedira and Kroos. Both are excellent box to box midfielders. I think our mid will become more dynamic rather then having someone strictly defensive or attacking. James will of course be the more attacking of the midfield trio to support Cr, Bale and Benzema up front.

Remember, during the Swiss game ADM lost the ball 40-50 tomes. That's unacceptable. James links better too. At least that's how I see it.

And as I said, those four will be the successors when Modric and Cr7 get old and Benzema gets shipped out. Now of course they won't get much playing time.

Bayern confirms Kroos selling for economic reasons

The club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said they did not want to let him go free in a year and announced talks with Real Madrid.

QUOTE
The Bayern Munich justified today for financial reasons the imminent transfer of German international Toni Kroos , who placed Spanish and German media for days at Real Madrid.

"I do not want to lose him next season without pay the buyout clause," said the head of the board of the Bavarian club, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge , during arrival to Munich Bayern players that won the World Cup in Brazil with the selection German.

" We have an obligation to worry about the finances of the club , we could not afford it, "Rummenigge said on the output of one of the stars of Germany in the World Cup. Likewise, the coach confirmed that Madrid is the best positioned to take over its services club: " It is true that there have been talks with Madrid by Toni . "

The media assume that Kroos, 24, will be presented this week as new player of Real Madrid, who have agreed with Bayern to pay a buyout clause to 25 million euros (over $ 34 million) .

Nope. Messi is the best No.10. At least at the rate how Ozil has been performing. 2-3 years ago it's a diff story.

But I think James, while being a great player, isn't worth 80 million. Unless its $80Million USD. € and £, then no. But I would like to see Bale and Ronaldo being part of a free roaming front three, with either James, Isco or Modric part of it but links back to the midfield 2 of Kroos and Khedira.

WORLD CUP'S BEST PLAYER TOUCHES DOWN IN REAL MADRID

QUOTE
The worst-kept secret of the summer has finally been revealed. Toni Kroos is a Real Madrid player. Just as MARCA has been reporting over recent weeks, the deal had already been done.
The player has left Bayern Munich a year before his contract expired in exchange for €25 million plus another €5 million in variables, which depend on the player reaching certain objectives once dressed in white. He will earn €6 million per season to the end of his contract.
The best player of the World Cup, according to FIFA's website, will land in Madrid to be presented to his new public. Kroos will wear the number 8 shirt, expected to become a bestseller from the minute it hits the shelves in the Bernabéu shop.
His presentation ceremony will take place at 17:00 in the VIP box of the stadium, the usual venue for this kind of event. It will be there that Florentino Pérez will address Kroos for the first time as a Real Madrid player and where the German will first say the famous words, "Hala Madrid", to the delight of the fans, who are expected to flock to the White Coliseum despite the time and the soaring temperatures in the capital.

Cant wait to see him on the field.
