Hello guys.. I'm quite confused on getting either one of these nikkor g lenses due to restrained budget.. cry.gif

I'm still unable to decide which one to take.. Will use it as a all purpose? Landscape + portrait?

Might need public opinions to make up my mind.. Any convincing comment?

Judt found out that there's a FX format 35mm 1.8G available now.. What if i compare that with the 50mm 1.8g?

Are you actually gonna shoot in the rain with those? You'll need a weather sealed body too.

Depends on which focal length you prefer. For me, on crop sensor, I prefer the 35mm.

You stated for "all purpose", I think the 35mm on crop sensor is a good combo, as you wont have to step back too much to take photos, for example, indoor, where space is limited, 50mm on crop sensor will be a bit far.

Shot with the 35mm f1.8G on D7000.

If crop sensor, get the 35mm. also for the price of that lens, you really will get the best bang for your buck!

Agree to mingyuyu.. Haven tried the 35mm.. biggrin.gif

Nogol, I am using d7100 biggrin.gif and I guess I will be shooting in the rain..

On crop sensor 50mm is trully a bit too far for me since I am planning to get an all-purpose lens.. 35mm will be the choice then?

Cheers everyone~

Yep go for 35. Unless you already have something else in that focal length and wanna do portraits only outdoors. 35 is pretty good for DX.

Just got a 35mm and on the 1.5 crop. Having fun playing with it at the moment. I have a 50mm lens but I think for most average shooting the 35 mm is more convenient. Much easier to walk near and get everything to fit the frame, than to walk further away to get everything to fit the frame. Also like some of the other guys, I think the 50mm felt too zoomed for me.
