yalor... our gen2 is using standard batteries mar.

however, if me not wrong, Kancil, kenari and kelisa is using N40 or something. itz smaller that wat we're using.

Yups, the smaller N40 is meant for the small cc cars like the Perodua mini cars... And as for MF, if well taken care, it really can last a few years before needing to change... How much did u change your batt, eng?

actually, the MF battery as the name indicates need not much maintenance. It's designed in a way that it will "take care" of itself once put to use.

However, we just have to change our usual habits of using the car in order to prolong the life of such batteries.

QUOTE(they are:)
1) Makes sure that the radio and the air-conditioned are switch off before you ignite your engine. The current the two suck for stat-up can be stressful to the engine.

2) Avoid reignite the engine after it was just shut off a moments ago. long term practise of such acts will make ur battery kong faster.

3) Fasten your battery. "Shaking" battery are no good and only makes them expires earlier.

4) Alternator. A functioning alternator will charge up ur battery before it's exhaust. Exhausted battery will risk urself stranded on the road earlier than u expected.

5) Grounding cables. A good grounding cables ensures that the current are well delivered and loop.

6) Cables. This can prevent noise and power surge which can spoils the battery.

7) Contacts. Bad fastener or contacts which are loaded with those whitish powder will shorter its lifespan.

cheers.

But even though with MF, if the car is left idle for long periods of time, there will be a problem with starting the engine right? Since the batt has not received a dosage of charge to maintain a minimum amount of power...

Icic, no wonder MF is more expensive than conventional batt... At least it still can start even though the vehicle is left idle for a long time... If this is the standard batt, sure cannot start already!
