Look at the "unlock all points of interest in paris now"

Well, isnt this something that always has been in AC for the past few games?

I hate it but it isnt too bad as you can find walkthrough to get the similar result.

Still, Ubisoft has gone pure evil with all these microtrasactions on a f**king single player game.

I remember Black Flag has it. And The Crew going full on with microtrasactions. There are people claiming that you need to pay real money to use fast travel. doh.gif

So looks like Ubisoft is going further and further. shakehead.gif

It is amazing that they can make AC3 looks better than ACU. doh.gif

If the microtransactions is just to activate "cheats" like unlock every location than it's fine in fact better coz they really want u to enjoy the game not using shortcuts.
*
Doubt it is as simple this time as even the microtrasaction page looks like something from a shitty F2P. And there are reports saying that you need to grind quest just to get enough Creed Points??? to upgrade.

Regardless that is true or not, I aint gonna touch this game without a 10 foot pole because they even shove microtrasactions along with shit performance and buggy move system into a single player game that I need to pay RM200 for.

QUOTE(darksider @ Nov 12 2014, 04:40 PM)
in beta u can fast travel to locations that u have gone before, but not sure if they changed it in console beta.

if it needs money for those fast travel where u can pick a point in map that u travelled before, then its seriously bull
*
I dont know as I never played the console beta but that doesnt feel right for me, especially playing the PC beta with double currency almost everywhere.

I highly doubt it is true but I wont be surprised if it is. Ubisoft has been really aggressive with IAP this time in their games.

if u have to pay real money to fast travel than it's gonna a real pain in the ass coz they said that the map is way bigger than AC4. i highly doubt they will implement it.

Well, I didnt expect ACU to have microtransactions in a single player game and they did it.

I wont be surprised if they do that with The Crew.

I doubt its gonna be bad but this is the beginning of the end. Last Forza 5 had microtrasaction, they didnt alter the gameplay to be more grindy.

This year, ACU had microtrasactions where anecdotal claims so far said that it is the most grindy AC game ever.

I fear the future of gaming where I need to pay RM1 to press the Option button.

actually the micro-transaction is not that bad. They are all unlockable on normal progression of the game. You only pay if you just wanna rush and unlock everything instantly which to me, kills the purpose of the game. Players should basically to take their time and explore the city of paris. It's really a beautiful place in real life. Hopefully the game locations are exactly like the actual paris since the company is french anyways. French Revolution is one of the most interesting history about people power in the world.

No, having microtrasactions in a $60 game is not right in any shape or form.

It is just for skipping content now but what happens if they put unlocks behind paywall in the future? Or deliberately slow the grind down till its almost unplayable without spending money like a China F2P? Or add timers into the game because your assassins will be tired after 1 mission like Candy Crush?

Microtrasactions brings no benefits to the consumers in any way, shape or form in a paid game. It is just Ubisoft being greedy on their part to make more money. At the same time, poor performance with ACU while all their games share the same template. Consumers should not accept bullshit like this.

If they start doing so, then we have all the right to boycott Ubisoft. For now, it's still okay except for the bugs/glitches. They need to fix that ASAP.

As long as they keep micro-transactions for purchasing "cheats" only then it'll be all good. In fact, all gaming companies should do so to discourage cheating in games and to truly enjoy a game that take years to be developed. Enjoy the game and take your own sweet time to complete it. Do you pay top dollars just to have it completed in 2-4 days?

Once, consumers were pissed when gaming introduced DLC content where we have to pay to get additional content in a game. Aren't we okay with that now?

No, even cheats are not fine because once you have microtrasactions, your game's design is compromised where it might be designed to be more grindy to sell more IAP. It is not done for the benefit of the consumers but only beneficial for a few executives in the company. At the same time, we had already seen the same problem with AAA games such as Forza 5 and GTA Online with microtrasactions actually have impact on the game. The game is actually a lot grindy than it should that resulted a huge out roar because the experience is inferior than what it should be. Why should a consumer allow something like that for a more inferior experience?

Developers wont implement microtrasactions for no reasons. They do it because they want money and in order to make more money, you need to alter the game to be more grindy to induce "pain" on certain portion of your consumers to pay up. Some people wont mind the grind, while some will be frustrated by it where they might pay up to progress faster which is what Ubisoft wants. Essentially, you are paying for "Show Me The Money" cheats in older games which is utterly unacceptable. At the same time, microtrasactions will just affect more and more portion of the game. Blackflag has the "cheats" microtrasactions to show you all the collectables and now, they are charging for in game money and faster unlocks in a single player/coop game. What about next year? The best gear is now locked behind a paywall?

Compared to DLCs, at least the Horse Armor gives you some silly cosmetics, ACU microtrasactions gives you nothing at all in return. Why should anyone accept this?

I was never fine with $15 Horse Armor but I am all fine with DLCs like XCOM's Enemies Within or Bioshock's Beneath The Sea DLCs. Same goes with microtrasactions as I oppose microtrasactions in ACU, or Clash of Clans but I am fine with them in games like Monumental Valley.

Total Biscuit's Lets Not Play, Yet.

Word of warning for those who might want to buy this game. Might be better to get Shadow of Mordor instead.
