i'm using joven water heater which usually i just off the main water pipe and the heater (red light indicator) will off, just the green light ON.

now the heater did not turn off after i off my water pipe and i heard boiling sound from the water heater until it cut off by thermostat and heater off itself....

i suspect the auto flow sensor switch not working and cannot detect no more water coming.....

can i still using the water heater as it just flow sensor switch not working only? now i switch off the heater after i off my water pipe....i just used for 2 years but only twice a week....

Joven as far as I know it will cut off once no more water supply.
Before we can give comment, can provide the model? Like it has internal pump or not.
My first waster heater was Joven with internal pump, used for 7 years before the motor failed. It will stay on until I off the main power.
Normal operation mode is I turn on the main water supply, it starts and if I want hot water, just set the thermostat to required. Before turning off the main water supply, I always turn off the thermostat for cold water first.

i'm using joven 880e, no water pump....

normally i just ON the outside switch and turn ON the water supply, the heater(red light indicator) will ON....

but now the heater will ON even the water supply is off. Then, i heard water boiling sound until it off by itself, should be thermal cut off which is normal feature...

i checked the user manual that 880e model got one auto flow sensor switch which it will turn off the heater when no water coming (mean water supply turn off)....that's why i suspec the flow sensor switch is not working...

try call the service centre and see how coz my warranty already expired....

I may contact a wireman that I know which can do the repair work. Anyway, just wait for the SC reply to you then see how it goes.

Well, I don't really suggest my way as far as possible, as incident regarding to water heater every year sure has few.
You can turn off the main power or fuse out before you open the cover.

Like that, never know that unit without pump so cheap.
I may consider scrap it and buy a new 1. Since water heater needs to be changed after few years.
Just a sad case for you that you need to change it after 2 years.
