So a friend's birthday is coming up and since she's in the UK, a few of us here were thinking of getting her a retro/vintage camera for decorative purposes since we know she likes those things.

Does anyone know where I can find shops selling these old school stuff?

And if possible, any chances of finding ones that still work with film?

Thanks!

What type of camera are you looking for and how old? If you are looking for bellows type camera, they will not come cheap but not forbidding. Also most of the bellows camera are not fully functional due to leakages in the bellows due to age..

If you are looking at incomplete units, I may have to dig into my box.. I have a couple but will have to confirm it this weekend when I have the time..
I may have an Ensign first prototype about year 1920 if not wrong. It comes with a wooden spindle and its body is wood wrap in leather. For its age it is still good enough for show and tell.. I know its aperture leaf is broken but otherwise the camera is complete.. It has a Bush & Lomb rectilinear lens. I bough it for its lens but rarely use it because it is to log for my purpose.. I have a Kodak VPK which does the job. I can take some pix from it if you want to see how it fair but has to over the weekend..

PM me if you are keen.

Some of these film cameras produce really nice pictures IMO, I wouldn't mind spending quite abit for a working one. But my friend probably wouldn't, and our budget is small, so for now, deco purposes.

But dang some of them look really sexy!
