Personally targeting:

Viper
Mangusta
Comanche
Helix
Mi-8
Havoc
Sea Dragon
(Maybe more, depending on the 'mood for purchase' haha)

Hopefully the series survives through, am sure they're lots of collectors out there hoping for the same as well.

Viper! Will dash to go get it if it really arrives next month! Hopefully no repeat of the Apache unavailability problem.

speaking of the apache, there was a whole box full of apaches at their office! my hands itchy to grab a few more but luckily resisted the temptation.

anyway, reason why i went back to allscript was simply because they were supposed to deliver the blackhawk together with my subscription issues... but didn't. that's why i went over instead of waiting and waiting only to be told later that the blackhawks are out of stock and asking me to choose any of the other models instead! true the other models cost rm20 more, but i want my blackhawk ma.
*
Wow they must've restocked the Apache.I'd be tempted to grab an extra issue to if i see them biggrin.gif How's the Huey btw? Well put together?

Btw, why grab extra issues you ask? Why to sell them at higher costs in the future ofcourse! icon_idea.gif
(Jokes aside, it will be nice at times to display more than one of an aircraft type in a mini 'squadron')

Just want to share a sighting:

Sunway Pyramid's Popular has loads of the Eurocopter Tiger in stock (almost 'hundreds').

Hope this helps those looking for it.

Is it me or is the Cobra missing a 'handle-grab' at the rear tail section where the holes are?

Wait, is it too much of a coincidence that mine had the same defect??

Supposedly:
2 Rotors with short rotor pin; 2 Rotors with 'long' rotor pin

My package:
3 rotors with short pin, 1 with long pin.

I solved mine by sanding, with a fine sanding paper, the rotor pin at the hub really gently until the rotor fits in. Remember to mask of the other sections while sanding to prevent any unwanted scratches or paint damages smile.gif
*
Wow! I had the same problem with my set as well! I used sand paper to sand the hubs also, and it was quite an easy fix. Bro WingNut, trust me, it's really an easy fix, you just have to be gentle biggrin.gif

QUOTE(WingNut @ Sep 16 2014, 07:49 PM)
i guess those who got 3 long sockets and 1 short one wouldn't have any problems... it's those with 3 short socket ones that will face assembly issues.

i dunno about you guys but their counter service is excellent. they will tell you to look out for the common defects (if they're not too busy, that is). so i always prefer going over to their office instead of them sending the items over.
*
You are right about the counter staff, they are indeed very courteous and soft-spoken. Dealt with a very nice Malay lady whom i failed to get her name tho.

Yup bros, definitely jelly seeing such copters wink.gif Perhaps it took some persuasion, but the reply came alas. Anyone wondered why? biggrin.gif

P.S: Was in jelly mode so much so that i went and check user's online status. Was funny to see the result.

(Not trying to offend any other users here who all collect the same thing as a hobby. Cheers!)

Something wrong with your head is it? If you wanted to ask me regarding details of the helis I bought, you could just ask me directly right? why do you have to respond in a very weird manner?

P.S: Are you trying to offend me? what do you mean by "Was funny to see the result".
*
No la bro, not trying to offend anyone here. Cheers!

Currently using Ikea Detolf(s) which retails for about RM170 IIRC. Got mine during sale, went for RM120 IIRC.

The Detolf(s) themselves have gaps between the glass panels, so what i did was purchase those transparent 'door gap eliminator' sold at Daiso and attach them to the panels. It does not fully eliminate dust entry, but it does significantly reduce dust collection, so much so i only clean the insides once a year during Raya. (I do that for my 1:100 aircraft collection)

Fair warning tho if you've never used Detolf(s) before, they're pretty fragile and needs some fair reinforcement to avoid toppling over.

Detolf(s) are sold with four levels, but additional levels can be added which i've seen in another thread somewhere before, up to eight IIRC.

With my current configuration, i manage to display 6 helis per level, some on the stands, some not. Could be able to accomodate more if i really squeeze i feel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.. thumbup.gif

Will try to get 1 detolf and custom it.
Currently rent one deck of my wife's deco plate cabinet, stuffed the whole 17 helis in it    sweat.gif

Wow, your display solution is really a sight to behold! Placing all 17 helis on one level really has that squadron presence! rclxms.gif

QUOTE(Tiger I @ Oct 1 2014, 09:28 PM)
how about billy bookshelf with glass door panel to it? detolf is fine and dandy, but the glass panel seems to me as more fragile than wooden shelf (i always have this thought that it would get knocked over and broken into millions of tiny pieces sweat.gif)
*
The Detolf is really fragile. It doesnt use tempered glass too unlike the Billy, so please be warned especially if there are kids around the house. No doubt the Billy bookcase is really appealing, but due to budget limitations, i opted for the Detolf. Also, i find that the Detolf has that 'display appeal' due to the all-glass surround as compared to the Billy. Ended up using my sole Billy as, well, a bookcase as it was intended biggrin.gif

QUOTE(WingNut @ Oct 2 2014, 09:48 AM)
as a standalone, imho that the detolf is more stable than the billy bookcase simply due to its centre of gravity. billy bookcases can easily topple forward if not secured to the wall (the hxd dimensions of the billy bookcase is 202x28 compared to detolf's 163x37). the grooves holding the glass siding for the detolf are pretty deep and imho secure but being an almost all glass construction, it is obviously more fragile than the billy bookcases. there are pros and cons of both that one has to consider. detolf would suit items that are best appreciated all around, whereas billy can be used for items that are best appreciated when viewed from a certain angle. it may cost slightly more but the modularity of billy bookcases allows for seamless additions and corner displays. i wouldn't say one is superior over the other... depends on individual requirements. as for me, generally the 1/100s that have lesser details are confined to the billy bookcases whereas the highly detailed 1/72s are given the vip detolf treatment.
*
Well i think in terms of stability, both are more or less the same since i secure them to the wall using 'U' brackets. However, like you said, it's the all-glass construction that's worrying! As hobby budget allocations are almost always the least and the most 'sacrificeable' of all budgets, i ended up with Detolf(s) instead. Only ever bought one Billy, used it as a bookcase instead in the end since the other Detolf(s) line up more uniformly as a display unit biggrin.gif

Im sorry for a bit off topic questions  regarding abt detolf u guys bought,  wanna ask do u guys bring it home by own transport or use ikea transport delivery services? I wonder how is the delivery charge if buy 2 or 3 set of detolf deliver within klang valleys area? Again my apologise if not a right place to ask such questions here.
*
I believe they charge a factor of the price of item purchased, based on a certain distance. I think it's 7% or something like that, but i'm not too sure. Do consult Ikea or try their website to be sure.

Normally pick the detolf(s) back on my own. The package size can be found at the Ikea website if you want to be sure if it fits in your car.

Thx a lot for feedback. I drive saga sv, dont think it can fit into my car
*
If i'm honest, i feel that the Saga SV with the back seat folded down (if need be, even the front seats can go down to make more space) should be able to accomodate the Detolfs. Try measuring and see smile.gif
