I have recenly build up with S939 system and i think i maybe happy with it.

Unfortunely it make me felts troble for it when i want to OC.
I only can use back my default FSB and speed which is 1.83ghz and i cant go for more. Have 1 time i remeber i can go for 1.9ghz only, then its cant boot up and i have solve it by clear the Cmos.

My system is AMD WINCHESTER AHTLON 3000
Processor Details
AMD Athlon? 64 Details
Processor AMD Athlon? 64
Model 3000+
Ordering P/N (Tray) ADA3000DIK4BI
Ordering P/N (PIB) ADA3000BIBOX
Operating Mode 32/64
Stepping D0
Frequency 1800Mhz
HT Speed 2000
Voltage 1.40V
Max Temp 70°C
Thermal Power 67W
L1 Cache 128KB
L2 Cache 512KB
CMOS Technology 90nm SOI
Socket Socket 939

Mobo i am using Asus-A8R-MVP.
Ram is normal ram Apacer cl2.5
DRAM Type DDR-SDRAM
DRAM Size 512 MBytes
DRAM Frequency 200.5 MHz
FSB:DRAM CPU/9
CAS# Latency 2.5 clocks
RAS# to CAS# 4 clocks
RAS# Precharge 4 clocks
Cycle Time (TRAS) 8 clocks
Bank Cycle Time (TRC) 12 clocks
DRAM Idle Timer 16 clocks
Command Rate 1T
# of memory modules 1
Module 0 Apacer Technology DDR PC3200 - 512 MBytes

But i never OC my ram So far because i wonder its may bring affects to my performance when i am wrongly config with it.

i am using stok HSF and IDE load is 38c full load is 45c.

So can you help me to solve it?

if not mistaken, its an ATi board..
plz list down what else did u tweak besides fsb..

possible solution:
1. change ram CAS timing to 3 /adjust ram timing
2. lower the LDT to 4
3. ...
... read mobo manual n understand what each option do
n last but not least, dont play with vcore if u have no idea what u r doing

profit?

The bios setting is like this :
PCIE FREQUENCY 100
Processor Multiplier set to 11.0 (max can go to 25x)
processor voltage set to 1.3v. (max can go to 1.35v, min is 0.8v)
DDR voltage set to 2.70v. (max is 3.2v, min is 2.65v)
PCIE voltage set to 1.2v (max is 1.5v, min is 1.2v)
Vcore over-voltage (disable)
Southbridge Over-Voltage (disable)
PEG LINK MODE normal
PEG BUFFER LENGTH (DO NOT IS WHAT)
CPU frequency is 200. (max is 400 , min is 200)

you may blow your power supply if your power supply is no good one...

currently using I-CUTE 450W TRUE POWER 250W.

i dont think its the problem for me to OCing it.

be very careful with that reply. raising volatges is one thing but must be within acceptable limits. The current recommendation is not to go over 25% of the stock voltages. Usually the voltage is increased only to strengthen the memory controllers when one starts to up the VDIMM. Otherwise I've noticed for general overclocks for normal use would run well at stock voltages.

For overclocking, safest is to go in 5Mhz steps of FSB as it's easier to diagnose the problem. In fact serach around the various forums on how to overclock for AMD

Here's an example of a decent guide

TQ for your guide.

i will let you know if i fond something misunderstand or stuck with it.

i have no friggin idea what rams are u using
so:
PCIE FREQUENCY 100
Processor Multiplier set to 9.0
processor voltage set to 1.35v (winchester needs 1.4v actually.. but nevermind)
DDR voltage set to 2.80v (assuning ram is hynix/samsung)
PCIE voltage set to 1.2v
Vcore over-voltage (disable)
Southbridge Over-Voltage (disable)
PEG LINK MODE normal
PEG BUFFER LENGTH
CPU frequency is 200 <-- up this frequency for overclock

now, where is:
LDT multiplier? [5x/4x/3x??]
Ram timing menu/settings?
