I have tried the following:

1) Own development e-commerce.
Advantage: 100% flexibility. You decide how you want it to be. One time development cost & minimal recurring cost (You only pay for the domain & hosting).
Disadvantage: Lack of awareness. You created your own brand & need to spend effort in promoting yourself.

2) Lowyat forum
Advantage: Targeted niche, mostly teenager to young adult. Good if you sell thing that well demanded by these people. I think partially my years of membership, successful trade list, as well as COD method help to bring in sales. Disadvantage: Highly competitive. Risk FFK/non-genuine buyer.

3) Mudah
Advantage: FREE! Many lead coming from the targeted race.
Disadvantage: Flooded with business killer where they simply offer rock bottom price hoping to make peanut, getting the deal.

4) Rakuten
I personally haven't tried this but the initially setup fee could cost you a bomb. And from what I observe prices that being offer over there are generally higher than average. I'm not sure how's their sales though.

5) Lazada
So far the one that generate the most sales due to them spending a lot of money in advertisement. Hassle free. Almost prompt payment.

i still think lelong would be better than easy.my as easy.my gives you an ecommerce but similar to what gs20 said, lack of awareness. lelong would be much better but lack flexibility.

if you are serious in your online shop , get your own shop, own engine (can be open source), end of the day, nothing last forever.

if you are using somebody else solutions , changed management/company closeshop / product discontinue , all will jeopardise your business plan

If you are serious in e-commerce and wish to develop your own business in it, you should consider self-hosted solution.

Meaning that you will control everything at your end, setup, design and so on.

Getting hosted service from other will lock you into their service and they can charge whatever they like when your site has high amount of visitors.

I think you should develop one ecommerce for your business. You just need to pay for Hosting and Domain and its around RM100-RM200/year for basic.

I suggest you to install Wordpress + Woocommerce plugin. Its plugin special for ecommerce website. GOOGLE it how to setup that wordpress. smile.gif You can PM if you need anything help.

I am doing online e-commerce business. We are runnning a website which can help people purchase products from the Chinese biggest online platform Taobao/Tmall.
Only need small startup capital, you can build your website, my website can source all the products from Chinese main e-commerce platform. I don't need to stockpile.
The benefit is good.
