QUOTE(Super Maniam @ Jan 16 2019, 02:29 PM) Hi, mind sharing average how many hours you are using per day? am considering to get the R32 gas non-inverter one About 12 hours per day, including weekend. I would say my average is RM1.30 per day. During hot season, it might hit RM2.30 per day, rough estimate.

Bout inverter technology, I would say it doesn't show any significant change in monthly bill. Spoken from my experience lah because I own both.. Unless your house need cooling 24x7, only then inventer will help.

I am using a 2.5hp inverter Hisense and I really don't know why there are complaints about noise. It is quieter than my other air conditioner - 1 unit national and 1 unit York (probably because of age? Hisense is new while the other 2 are very old)
I was set on buying Daikin or York 2hp but for the same price I could get Hisense 2.5hp inverter. I figure it was a calculated gamble since it came w longer warranty and I get to save abit more on electricity bill due to the higher btu and inverter.
Somehow my unti came w/o instructions hence till today I only on/off, set temperature and adjust the fan speed. There are a few modes on the unti which I don't know how to use, just put under smart mode.

No point in getting inverter if not long hours, so decided to get non inverter R32 This post has been edited by Super Maniam: Jan 22 2019, 09:05 AM

In this hot weather, my old 1.5 hp panasonic R22 non-inverter aircon of 8 years give way and now depend on my year old panasonic sky series 1 hp aircon to cool down the room which is not enough. I should had get a inverter aircon last time as my brother next door using inverter bought around the same time still functioning when he use it more often then me. I just book a Haier 1.5 hp inverter aircon. It cheaper then my panasonic 1hp sky series.

Haier, Hisense and Midea are extremely good brands for air conditioners and they are big in PRC which isn't exactly an easy market to survive in unless you are extremely good.
Hisense air conditioners can be found as standard fit by developers these days, most recent one I know off is Boulevard 28 by Beverly Group, every unit equipped with this brand.
Many Hitachi air conditioners do utilize components from Hisense as well.
When it comes to brand name air conditioners, it is only worth while buying Japanese ones if you are planning on buying a high end or premium model else you are basically paying for the name and nothing more.

QUOTE(GarubaSwey @ Apr 2 2014, 02:33 AM) If you want reliable, buy YORK brand, been around for ages and every repairman know how to fix it, because alot ppl uses it, parts are cheap and easy to find Old York and New York very different. The Old York is now called Daikin.

How much for installation fees charge by your installer?
Get quoted for rm250 on 1.5hp installations

After using my Haier 1.5hp aircon since last year heat wave. I found it to perform very well - even better than my panasonic sky series that chocked with dust inside that can;'t be clean by us user. The Haier filter perform well and the self cleaning function help a lot. The dust collected on the filter are evenly all over unlike pana which focus on one part! Haier aircon also easy to clean. That all my simple review as am a busy man at home taking care of my two kids. So far, my wife only complain is it so cold when I set it at 27. So, normaly operate at 28.
