I am looking to get a new air conditioner after my Acson air conditioner stopped working a few days ago (it has lasted at least 8 years, maybe 10 years).

Anyway, I came across Sharp air conditioners and became interested in their Plasmacluster technology that purifies the air from airborne mold and viruses (good for those that have frequent common colds and flus). Then I found out that other air conditioner brands also have similar ion technology, whereby positive and negative ions are released into the air to destroy mold and viruses.

One brand that I am seriously considering is Hisense. Although this brand is from China, the price is significantly lower than other brands in the market. The 1 HP model with the ion technology is RM549 and after installation, one is looking at RM730 outlay.

Before I make the decision to buy this brand of air conditioner, I would like feedback from Hisense users. Is this brand reliable or does it give problems? And how long have you been using this air conditioner?

Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Ken

I'm not a Hisense user, but can contribute a few views on ionizers:

I use a Sharp Plasmacluster air filter/ionizer and it is very good. Recommend that you consider a stand-alone unit because you will have the option of using it to purify the air in rooms that are not being cooled.

Not all ion generators or ionizing aircons are created equal. Compare ion output rates and also the frequency and cost of replacing the ion emitters (they do wear out over time).

I would like to know on reliability and performance of Fujiaire Air Conditioners ... Made in Malaysia, parts should be easier compared to Haier. Any user complaints ?

Having thought for it for a while, I think it is okay to buy Hi-sense air conditioners but you should buy the extended warranty as well, offered by Harvey Norman and Courts. The extended warranty will cost RM200 more for 5 years of total warranty, but I think it's worthwhile.

Even my air-cond got air filter inside, but only last for 3 months.
New filter will cost around Rm60 or more depending on Ac model.
Its better to invest in stand-alone unit for air purifier.

Fujiaire brand can avoid. I got 2 units 1hp and 2 units 1.5hp.
My 1.5hp is not really cold compare to other brand. One of the unit the swing already got problem less than 1 yr usage. Last time price is cheap 650 fr 1hp n 900 fr 1.5hp imnm.
1hp is fine tho. But the coldness lacking compared to york.

Folks, I'm thinking of getting a Hisense inverter air conditioner. Hmm...think it'll be as good as York or Panasonic?
