Yoga 2 is the ultrabook with highest display resolution (3200x1800) in the world compared to latest generation ASUS Zenbook (2560x1660). and of course, larger resolution = very tiny words due to poor scaling of Windows 8 compared to Apple's Retina display.only if you can live with tiny icons and small worlds, you might love it. battery performance, around 6 hours with WiFi surfing. QUOTE(skyzzable @ Apr 17 2014, 03:56 AM) 1. Preferred Brand: Asus, but can try others light and good cooling system dont coexist together. to have good cooling system, the notebook will be thicker to allow more airflow, while to keep the notebook light, the notebook will be thinner which means trapping airflow. anyway :2. QUOTE(PliZ.Proficient @ Apr 17 2014, 01:59 PM) 1. Any brand will do I think the U430 and Flex 14 will be good picks. Smaller screens = less power consumption 2. 2.3k~3k 3. Open to new suggestions. However, do take note that the GPUs in these machines are entry-level only ya Battery lives should be around 4-5 hours |

I commute to work every day therefore I need a light laptop scared back break. lol You either choose a bulky/fat/heavy notebook with good performance (and relatively short battery life) and decent cooling at an affordable price OR Slim/sexy/light notebook with good performance (decent battery life) but very bad cooling at an affordable price OR Slim/sexy/light notebook with good performance (decent battery life) and decent cooling at an expensive price If you don't mind the flimsy built and weak WiFi range as well as weaker performance (compared to the Y410p), you can consider the Vostro 5470 14" Dell Vostro 5470, i7-4500U + Nvidia GT740M + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm) + (1366x768; Touch)@RM2499, 4GB, W8.1SL, 3-cell *extend warranty to 3 years; upgrade RAM to at least 8GB This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Apr 17 2014, 03:18 PM |
