Lazada selling L40-AS125X much cheaper than L40-AS109X, don't know why

Toshiba Satelite L40-AS109X 14" (RM1,998)

Toshiba Satelite L40-AS125X 14" (RM1,879)

The prices in the Notebook Price Catalog are in RRP (which may not be the most updated as well laugh.gif)
The actual price you're going to get will vary, depending on how much a seller offers you icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks. Might be going with MacBookAir 11" + Intel HD5000 + 128 SSD + (1366x768)@RM2,849 (education price) with spare for VGA dongle and still fall within budget.

Good for you man rclxm9.gif
Try to go for the warranty extension as well if possible, since slim notebooks will be very expensive to repair if anything happens  nod.gif

should go feel the screen size, not much people especially students choose 11" since 13" is just RM300 away... anyway good luck to your purchasing...

Not many options for notebooks less than 14" for that budget unfortunately.. unless you don't mind those ~10" budget netbooks which are not very reliable and comfortable to use hmm.gif

This is the notebook to look for, you'll love the premium design and also good screen icon_rolleyes.gif
14"
Dell Inspiron 14 7000, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2699[2.02kg], 6GB(soldered), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

*extend warranty to 3 years
Can consider getting from bro Oscar, one of the best sellers here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=216...1751731&fref=ts
Last I check he was selling this at ~RM2.3-2.4k only, which means you might have enough budget to ask him upgrade to SSD to you if you want, or just use the remaining budget for something else icon_rolleyes.gif

You do realize U430 and Inspiron 14 are 14" notebooks (not "below 14"")? haha laugh.gif

I suppose its still these two at the moment hmm.gif Lenovo for better GPU and higher resolution; Dell for better warranty support (If opted)
Sure can run AutoCAD, just a matter of how smooth (depending on the intensiveness of tasks given)

Can consider this one as well, quite sleek:
14"
HP Envy Touchsmart 14-K119TX Sleekbook, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768;touch)@RM2799[2.01kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8.1

Lowyat plaza is the place to go nod.gif
but you'll need to ask around from shop to shop (only go to big stores ya to avoid con-case) to get the best price nod.gif
And try to turn down freebies- they're useless, ask for price reductions instead icon_rolleyes.gif

*Assuming you already know both laptop suits your usage
With the Dell you get better warranty support (better if you extend the warranty to 3 years on-site)

The Lenovo is lighter and slimmer, potentially hotter as well icon_rolleyes.gif

I think you are looking for a 14" notebook laugh.gif

Can consider this one, its a great and classy-looking notebook, with great 1-year warranty support too:
14"
Dell Inspiron 14 7000, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + 32GB mSATA + 500GB(5400rpm)@RM2699[2.02kg], 6GB(soldered), W8.1, backlit keyboard, 58Whr, No ODD

Do check with bro Oscar on the price here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DellAlienwar...?flyingspaghettimonster=ts&fref=ts
Last I've checked he was selling at a price around your budget icon_rolleyes.gif

Or if you prefer something cheaper, then this:
14"
Lenovo Ideapad Flex 14, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT720M +(1366x768; touch) + 8GB SSHD + 500GB HDD@RM2299, 4GB, W8, 2 yrs; colors: black/orange

But do take note that slim notebooks don't come with optical drives (CD-ROM) anymore ya icon_rolleyes.gif

Oops, should say 14" and below. Haha!

What if the screen size is around 11" - 13"? And the budget is increased to 3.5k? Will i have more choice? Want something that can justify the higher price tag though

11-13" notebooks are not that large-scale produce , so they are generally more expensive nod.gif
It costs more to fit more in such a small profile as well, so nope... not really much you can choose around that budget

Closest:
13"
Illegear RE-13 Pro, i5-4200M + Nvidia GTX765M + (1920x1080 IPS)@RM3999[2kg][Onkyo, SoundBlaster Cinema], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm), Backlit Keyboard, FreeDOS, [CPU Options: i5-4200M - i7-4900MQ]
