For rooted power users on stock, there is still a solution (platform.xml) if you still want to be on stock if ever the 4.4 updates is available for the international S3.

Anyone using the Papago (M9) for 5 countries (not the Google Play version but from the Legit/Legal DVD where you have to register for the activation codes)??

I just realised my Papago won't start anymore after I upgraded to 4.3 (from 4.1). Anybody else faced this problem? I already email the local support but no reply

Symptoms:
Papago splash screen appears and then force closes.

Sidenote:
Myself still a S3 user for the near future; although I like the Note 3 (I have note 8 as well); as a matter of principal will probably not be getting another Galaxy as I really really really dislike the Knox forced upon everyone)

Very good tip, have made Nova Launcher resident (TouchWiz frozen) and Button Saviour resident. I could live with Nova Launcher redraw as not so frequent but my Button Saviour always gets killed so this tip solved my problem!!!

If you rooted your phone, I suggest downloading the ROM and using MOBILE ODIN on your phone to update your phone. Updating through Kies is actually doing the flash of the ROM in the background (definitely not OTA); so it is better to actually see the flashing going on rather than depend on the very very flaky Kies - Or if you still prefer to use PC, use ODIN.

Off -Topic: Sorry bro, got access to some Ditto Friend Safari but only misc 2IVs. Also not active now on 3DS gaming, too busy to pick it up again.

I think Note 3 is still the best phablet I think (though Sony Xperia Z series has a phablet as well and can use pen/pencil as stylus)
Note 8 is bigger and comes bundled with the fantastic Awesome Note.

Don't want to muddle advice the others here have given to you as it is good advice. This is just to highlight what you may not know.

1. Flashing through ODIN (PC based) a stock rom downloaded from Sammobile
=> will flash new bootloader, stock recovery, stock kernel and ROM
=> You will lose whatever custom recovery and custom kernel you have
=> You will lose root, flash counter incremented

2. Flashing through Mobile ODIN (run app via your rooted phone) a stock rom downloaded from Sammobile
=> will flash stock recovery, stock kernel and ROM
=> You will lose whatever custom recovery and custom kernel you have
=> You will not lose the previous bootloader
=> flash counter not incremented
And if you have the PRO version of mobile ODIN, you can enable everroot so you don't lose root, else you will lose root.

Nandroid is a full backup of the partitions on your device’s NAND flash (i.e. your phone internal storage only)
So it does a backup of your system, data, recovery partitions. You will not be able to use it to move across devices. It does not make sense to just restore the data partition without the system right???

Use titanium backup (or Helium) for that instead if you want to try to move apps (assuming that the apps are compatible with your new device)

Maybe double check the file sizes? (Might it be 0 bytes?) Try to copy to PC and check playback as well...
