It's hardly repetitive. Watch some live stream and see for yourself.

Judging from how people react to Battlezone framerate and playroom VR changes, the pro is essential for VR.

That and 90FPS Miku ftw.

any diff?
VR not limited by its display resolution?>
*
The biggest and most important difference is framerate, when you hear people saying the slight nausea in Battlezone is completely gone with pro that really says a lot. I'm looking forward to buttery smooth VR experience over AA, lighting and particle effects.

Since SEGA is saying Project Diva X and VR future live on pro now supports native 90FPS, that means it was 60FPS reprojection on normal PS4s.

When Miku is moving quickly across the stage it was apparent things could've gone much smoother, I'm so glad this was addressed and can't wait to experience it myself soon.

Oh, cinematic mode is finally usable now, way less blurry and jaggy across all PS4 content, drift is still present but hey, you got yourself a functional cinema screen now, rejoice!

No wonder why Sony is so tight lipped on the true power of the pro, they really want to avoid cannibalizing their own PS4 sales.

Nah, I play quite a bit of Battlezone as well, and I know exactly what he meant. If everything is smooth like Windlands, this will be the biggest selling point for pro alone, not prettier graphics.

90FPS will be standard for sure.

QUOTE
No motion sickness. The FPS must be pushed or something.
Background: I play a TON of BZ. (got the 1000 tank kill trophy quite a while back!) But, it always made me sick. Just tried it on the PSPro, and for the first time, not a hint of motion sickness.
Also, yeah: reflections and things in cockpit where sharper and reflecty-er.. outside was sharper, text easy to read, etc.
BUT THE FPS! MUCH MUCH BETTER. Way to go, Devs!

I bought a glasses lens cleaner.  Everytime I finish use the psvr, the lens require cleaning.  It helps a lot using the lens cleaner, you can get it in any eye optical shop.

Wash your face leh, I rarely need to clean the lens.

It's eye moisture and fog. Not the face. Be Civil!

I read finished use, means it remained on the lens no?

The fog disappears after a few minutes of using it. Always happens right after I showered and put it on.

so does the youtube app now can play 360 video?
*
Not yet, but you can download 4K 360 videos from YouTube to PC and upload it to your Vrideo account. Then download the video on your PS4 app.

Sounds pain in the ass, but redditors really enjoyed viewing 3D VR videos.

Guys..need to check with you all...

I find that I'm struggling with the headset while playing in order to get the sharpest picture. I notice, the edge is always blurry. I tried the eye to eye measurement, it still there. I wish Sony give a slider for the eye to eye rather than the current method, it is troublesome.

I read somewhere that some unit come with the lens protector and we supposed to peel it off. I tried finding it and its not there. Do you have it on yours?

I also have the problem of light leakage from the nose area. I have to jam the headset close to me and tighten it like hell in order to close the gap and also to get as close to the lens as possible. The image is sharper if me eye is closer to the lens but the whole headset was tight like hell. Do you experience that too. I wonder if there a solution to close the gap near my nose.

So far, these are the games i find most interesting and awesome:

1. Batman
2. London Heist
3. Carnival games
4. Job Simulator
5. Until Dawn

The worst game and its super duper blurry and you should just save your money on:

1. Here they lie
2. Weeping doll

Are there selling Robinson, Eve, in Games Hideout?
*
The edge will always be blurry, just pretend there's an invisible circular zone right in the middle and just focus there.

Eye to eye measurements are mostly used to determine the sense of scale in VR. If you want maximum sharpness, gently adjust the physical position of headset until menu text is razor sharp.

As for light leakage, I just ignored it and focus on the game. You get used to it soon enough.

vr 360  vids? how much size we talking here? sweat.gif

If you had to ask, better wait for official YouTube support. It's pretty massive.

Also PSA for people with cinematic mode drift, this redditor finally got rid of that pesky issue for good. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

Tested a couple hours between YouTube and games, the left drift is non-existent now.

Now I just need my pro for complete VR experience, zero complaints.

QUOTE
Yesterday evening I tinkered with my PSVR for half an hour and managed to figure out a workaround for the left-drift problem. It's not great to pull off, but the results were very satisfactory.

Before I start, let me point out that yes, the gradual leftward drift is due to something with the (processing of) the motion-sensing gyros in the headset, which has nothing to do with the camera or the tracking lights. BUT, there is a separate-but-related issue that can make games or menus launch off-center, and that issue IS due to the camera and tracking lights. So you really have to get both pieces of this puzzle set up just right to get things working as you'd expect.

First off, for certain games (perhaps all), it appears that they want/need/expect the headset's rotational angle to be exactly square-on against the center of the camera. If it's not, then when they finish loading the title menu or a new level or whatever, it'll present you with a virtual world that is rotated by the amount you are off from being "square on" to the camera. So ignore any advice you might have read about aligning the camera's right lens to the center of the headset, follow Sony's guidance about sitting "directly in front of" the camera, and most importantly, use the "Adjust Camera Position" feature (the one that shows the inverted colors) inside the pop-up dashboard menu (the one you get by holding PS button for a couple seconds) to get the camera positioned such that the headset is in the center of its FOV AND is squared dead-on against what the camera sees. (The other "Adjust Camera" calibration -- the one that takes 3 photos of your face -- in the main "Devices" menu is worthless because it does NOT show you the true/full FOV that the camera uses in VR mode). Inches matter here; whatever your center/neutral position is that you consider "facing forward" while sitting/standing and facing the camera, you need to ensure the camera is dead centered and directly facing you. Doing this resolved an issue I was seeing with both Rez Infinite and VR Worlds where everything would be centered until a particular menu/title screen would suddenly appear and cause the whole virtual world to jump a few degrees off center.
Secondly, and most critically, I discovered I can work around the gradual leftward drift by recentering in a particular way (with the OPTIONS button at the PS dashboard) that apparently fools its calibration.

I start by rotating my head directly to my right... then start pressing and holding the OPTIONS button, and while holding it, rotate my head at a moderate speed back to (or just past) center, such that the end of the 2-second "hold options to recenter" time window ends just as my head is happening to rotate through front center position. It takes a handful of tries to get it, but once I've done that (and aligned the camera properly per my preceding advice) and verified that the dashboard (aka "cinema mode") doesn't drift anymore, then I can launch and play any game for a long time without any annoying drift.
The only catch is that in some (most?) games, you have to avoid recentering/recalibrating again during the game, or it undoes the fooled calibration you so carefully set up in the dashboard. But if you get it all set up correctly up-front, then you basically never need to center again in-game.

The good news is, these findings make it pretty clear that the drift and centering problems are ALL software/firmware issues, which means they will likely get resolved via future updates. Sony just needs to fix their "recenter" function to treat the headset's current tracking lights position as "exactly facing forward" rotational angle, and they need to change their recentering routine to not look at just one instant in time, but to compare the gyro readouts at two points in time to detect gyro drift and compensate it away.

Tried PSVR in Sunway yesterday. At the startup screen it was great as you feel like floating in the PS menu.  biggrin.gif

But have to say i was very disappointed with the pixelated graphic. Was testing Eve Valkyrie and compare to the youtube HD screen, PSVR graphic feels really like PS2 (no joke).. Cannot use utube HD graphic to compare.

Stocks will be ready in December 2016, but from what i seen, probably will skip it for now. Im curious:

1. The show staff said PS4 pro will not make a difference to the graphic u see now.
2. To enhance the graphic, its either you wait for dev software upgrade or PSVR2. lol..?
*
Ask the show staff to run RIGS, or playroom VR on pro, if still cannot tell the difference need to get fired liao.

They said by December there will be a batch of stocks arriving. I didn't asked in detail whether those are preordered stocks or first come first serve basic. They their preorders/waitlist for VR are open now.

Rough understanding will be we will need PS VR + PS Pro + 4k TV + good Headset to get a good VR experience. Not counting move/eye. PS4 standard edition with VR... seems will not cut it.
*
I really don't get what Sony is doing.

I still haven't get updates on PS4 pro availability, I'm dreading the word 2017.

Don't they want money?

Playroom VR on PS4 Pro vs normal PS4 is like night and day. Also RIGS with Pro patch, Robinson with Pro patch, both using increase super-sampling resolution - for me it's significantly improved.

Stahp, don't make me harass the game shop any further!
Do you own Miku VR or Project Diva X? How's the 90FPS? I can't seem to find impressions with the pro.

PSA: please avoid ripoff experiences like The Martian and NBA 2KVR. Really must boycott them to send a message, PSVR gamers aren't as gullible as they think.

And FFS Sony Asia, I want to spend! I'm still waiting for Headmaster and Holoball on the store, why the heck they go and add NBA first is totally beyond me.

Holoball is going to be part of my daily exercise from now on.

Ya lor, those developers thought that while PSVR is just starting and don't have hundreds of better quality PSVR games as competitors, they'll try to earn easy money first while they can.  shakehead.gif

What's your rating of Holoball? No reviews yet on Metacritic ...
*
You probably won't believe this, but so far every single game recommendation on Reddit has been spot on. And people has been raving on Holoball like crazy.

Recent AMA also sold the game to me already, can play local multiplayer with a DS4 player, future co-op and pvp multiplayer with spectator mode. Dual wield!

Not necessarily, you can further adjust the size to adapt your room. I mostly stand still while quickly shifting left and right and the occasional ducking.

Bought the Star Wars Deluxe too for $8.99.

I wish they will also put the VR games on sale.
*
Got some, Bound $19.99 $11.99 and Holoball $14.99 $11.99

Can stack with 10% off code.

Both are excellent games.

Edit: Anyone's excited for Crystal Rift? First PSVR RPG coming out next week!

QUOTE
A grid-based dungeon-crawler in classic first person perspective. Crystal Rift is inspired by classic dungeon games such as Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder with grid-based movement. It has been developed primarily for VR, but is also a great experience for those without headsets.

Yes of course, it's effectively another display for your console outside of VR, 1080p anime content works really well with large cinematic mode.
