QUOTE(tutuyao @ Jan 14 2015, 11:55 PM) hi guys, i've been using CIMB cash rebate platinum credit card for a year now. i have not done any installments before thus i thought of dropping a stupid question here, see if any kind soul can answer me.. i'm currently eyeing a macbook from apple website. Let's say the item is RM 4,099. I purchased via the credit card and I would like to convert the purchase into installment plan, how does it work and what is the installment rate? Thanks in advance! edit: am looking at 12 months / 18 months installment period. below is the link to my credit card : http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...tures--Benefitsand what does "10% cash rebate on monthly interest paid" mean ? thanks again! if you have late payment or partial payment that caused you to be charged with interest, they will take 10% off the interest.

QUOTE(adele123 @ Jan 15 2015, 12:49 PM) Apple store online doesn't have any tied up with any banks. unlike, example dell malaysia. With dell, you can convert to 0% based on the t&c with the selected banks. 1) you can call to the bank convert to installment - but apparently based on some post back, a forummer said it is not possible with CIMB. usually other banks have this function but definitely not 0%. again, try calling CS, see what's the rate. 2) you can apply a second card, make use of balance transfer. the interest is lower i think, some offers 0% too. 3) you can apply ocbc silver card, automatic conversion to 6months 0% instalment payment plan. I bought an iMac before with 12-months installment plan using Maybankard 2 AMEX at The Curve's Machine store.

QUOTE(adrianfoo2003 @ Feb 10 2015, 03:38 PM) Anyone here using CIMB credit card that comes with Touch n Go feature? I've been using it for 3 years and I noticed my auto reload was charged with extra RM 2. Called the bank and they said this year, RM 2 service fee will be charge for every auto reload. with GST in April, I think you will be charged another 6% on the RM2.00

QUOTE(adele123 @ Mar 18 2015, 05:21 PM) while auto debit is convenient, to maximise my cash back, especially with M2C is totally worth the inconvenience... it's a ritual paying bills on saturday OT: I know that TNB payment can be scheduled for future payment (pick a Saturday) with Amex card 2 via Maybank2u.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 14 2015, 10:02 AM) They wanted to give it to me the reward points card but I don't want. Nowadays, reward points is close to worthless. You'll never know when the depreciation game starts again.

QUOTE(XCloudz @ May 12 2015, 01:56 PM) Any promotion now for new CIMB CC applicant? Just received a call from CIMB offering dual card. I was told that I will be put under the dual card promo, too. When I asked about what's the benefits of getting 2 cards (1 of the card being the generic card), I was told 2 cards will be given and they both sharing credit limit. Thought it through and there is no added value, I insisted only 1 card and not 2. I think it's just the matter of the credit card telemarketers to sell 2 cards (volume).

QUOTE(XCloudz @ May 12 2015, 02:51 PM) Yes the same was told...shared CL. So end up you applied for 1 instead of 2? Why need 2 when 1 is all that you need. The 2nd card is a generic card that gets you 1 bonus point per RM1. knowing the current trend of bonus point reward, I rather not, even if it's free.

so the saga continues.
After insisting on just 1 card, instead of the duo combo cards application, the Tele-CS still proceed my application with combo cards....
How did I find out? Received 2 letters stating my combo cards are ready for collection/on its way through delivery (still haven't received them though).
Called CS to request for cancellation of the other card that I don't want. Was told that the combo promotion gives RM25 for RM500 spending. I said No.
a few days later, CS called to ask why I wanted to cancel, told her I never applied for the other card. Reiterated the RM25 rebate promotion. I responded that I am not interested.
In the end, CS said if I accept the card, I will get RM25 without doing anything, I said OK.
LOL
