Q and A Turn off harddisk?, power save settings in control panel

im using 2 harddisk.1 is for the windows and other 1 is for file storage.
my question is whether is there any problem if i activate the "turn off my harddisks" option??will it affect my com??cuz i always left my com on..will the "turn off my harddisk" thing can prolong my harddisk lifespan??? |

electricity is not the problem..what im afraid is hd get overheated??(does it happen??)
