just curious about alpine player, is it the best player interm of quality of sound producing and overall performance?
if compare with pioneer, kenwood, jvc, eclipse, panasonic, etc which are the best?

can't say ALPINE is the best bcz ALPINE themselves also have plenty of models 1... not all r the best...
for brand... each brand has their best player... also known as HERO of the brand.. eg.. alpine's HERO model is 7990r F1# status... pioneer's pulak P9... clarios HXD2.. and so on... |

Yup...every brand got their own the best...
Best HU must match with good system...If not the performance will be wasted. & also If you have a best player & don't know how to use the function....Or the system matching with it too bad.... Will it still the best? I think just waste it...! |

Somehow, i kinda find that i prefer Clarion if you speak about generality wise, somehow, most of their decks sounds fuller(even the lower end series)
I do find that Alpine is a bit clinical for even up to the 98xx series. As for Pioneer, hm... can't really say much but the ones with the Burr-Brown DAC does sound quite a lot better than the regular Pioneers  |

I heard friend say DENON DCT-1 HU was few years model loh...
I don't think this HU was imported direct by that shop. |
