Specs is still unclear but most likely I guess will be on mtk6592m 1.4ghz. The draw back is the 1gb ram. Rumor price is 1.2k yuan

atm this phone only support TD-SCDMA / GSM... guess need to wait a bit before WCDMA come out.. but the price is really good and direct comparable with Huawei 3X .. another problem is don even know have a chance to place the booking or not..always sell out..

If xiaomi still exercise its old practice , basically majority will just switch to other phone instead of never ending wait. There are plenty if options if one willing to spend bit more. Besides when wcdma version be available still remain unknown

And similar phone already available months ago from coolpad,coolpad halo f1, a 5 incher with corning glass, selling at 888 Yuan with similar specs with the 999 Yuan note

Price reduction on Honor 3x? Never read bout it as its still the same old 1698 yuan in vmall. Even price drop also I dont think it will reach 999 yuan as this hongmi note advertise. And as majority concerned, stock availability is always 1 big problem with xiaomi phone and no wcdma version for it now, where there are plenty of honor 3x stocks available, and its default pricing is still very reasonable for specs it carries.

The only bad part is both model also dont have nfc

Pricing for honor 3x is still at 1698 yuan in vmall when I reply this post. And that honor 3x from gizchina link ain't actually the default honor 3x if you don't know bout it.

The so call honor 3x play edition is meant for counter hongmi note, just the same as this new honor branding. The phone back cover will be similar to note 3 faux leather, which ain't like the default 1. And majority predicts it won't have the dual 3g feature on honor 3x, and will most likely be available in td-scdma 1st like hongmi note. Besides it might only be powered by mt6592m instead of mt6592 on the default honor 3x. All will be clear when the full specs of this honor 3x play edition goes public

yes, support otg, i use es explorer to open files and even play movie from that.

got play store as well. already install fruit ninja / coc ( always heard ppl ask me to try this apps gt lag or not so i just try play, no lag i can tell you) mobo player, so far no issue.

hi, initially the rom comes with some china apps..i not getting use to it. so i jsut flash the latest international rom.... so far games no problem, but.... facebook crash

camera sharp and clear..cant match with iphone, but good enough for me that jsut want point and shot and don worry, all picture taken is sharp and clear.


so for facebook issue, well, just hv o use other apps as replacement. sound quality same as my mi3.

watching movie is awesome... 5.5 mah.

this phone comes with memory card expension, so no worries for me althought it only comes with 8gb. another plus point is it support OTG function, directd gv me a otg converter so i can use it for any thumbdrive ...don need extra spend.

still exploring the phone now as only now i am a bit free.

battery wise no commen yet as today i keep on charging the phone while i flash and keep reset the phone.

oh, 1 think i found out funny is the usb port charging direction is terbalik with mi3...most of the phone the micro usb logo is facing up when you charging, but for redmi note, it is facing down, guys hv to be careful when charging .

gv me few more days to monitor the battery, games performance, and any other bugs that i facing...

by the way, any games that you want to me test out on this 5.5 babe ? i dono what to test other then angry bird series, minion and fruit ninja

yes, i use celcom xpax at sim 1, sim 2 empty slot at this moment.... og 1 more thing this compare to moto g is if i put only 1 sim slot and the other 1 empty, i won't see the sim error icon at the 2nd sim . moto g will show the sim empty icon. not sure about other brand thought as this is my 3th dual sim phone.

Tried with mi3 few days back then sell it off next day, hopefully can get hold of redmi note and try it out before decide which phone to use.

How does the speaker sound perform compare to mi3???

nice to have your opinion, am considering this phone as well but 2 question on my mind now is:

1. will 5.5" be too big for me and some of my slimfit pants
2. battery performance(cuz currently on P780)

hongmi and hongmi note different is really big
somewhere between earth and sky

this baby equipped with 8cores running 1.7GHz with mali450 graphic

for me is the same after i play same Akon song "Troublemaker"

1.if you have no problem fit in mi3 to ur pants, then should be no diff also for redmi note as you can see my picture i post, side by side i put note and mi3 and moto g...mi3 and note almost same height.


2. battery sure lost to p780...i doubt any phone that can bet this moster...mayb s5 (after switch on super power saving mode?)... so far yet to try fully using it as this is temp still my test phone yet...after i configure everything i need like email and whatsapp the only i will change my sim to this phone, like that only will know how it can handle my daily activities compare to mi3.

hmm..i can hear some cracking sound when i play song on mi3(max volume of course) flac format, wondering the same problem happen on note or not.

Too heavy for the screen size (as well as battery capacity). Other brands endup way lighter.

Some 5.5 incher are more compact than others. Lenovo A850+ is one example (of cheap phone) and LG G3 is a more extreme example in term of compactness (but with a way higher price tag).

vostro78 how about touch screen perfomance? read somewhere have multi touch issue, especially when trying pinch to zoom function

NEW Google Maps v8.0 and above(latest is v8.1) are capable to cache offline maps into your devices(both Android/iOS), so that you still can run navigation even when you offline. But the drawback for it, that Malaysia have no capable to DIRECT save into your device, you have to view the Route on your WiFi/Data to cache the area before you start using it with Offline. While Singapore have capable to direct save.

Lenovo wont have sim error/empty also.

BTW, whats the price range you bought it for?

last ver dropped save offline feature now oni bring back, nothing special
oh for msia, since day one cant save offline bcoz of the licensing issue
there used to be hacked version to save offline, until google kill all of it

vostro78 how is the rear & front camera. Is it 13mp & 5mp respectively? Compare with mi3, is it more better?

What about battery? Can last longer than mi3? Wanna get one soon....hehe

camera i think mi3 still better but not far behind. i rarely use android phone take photo as i got 5s. battery to my surprise.... mi3 battery % drop slower then note when both 3g outside, yet my note not yet set company email + hotmail. so i think mi3 is better in battery

now compare low light (and without flash)

for mapping... if u hv data... then better go for waze
else no data... install papago

actually alot of ppl cursing bcoz of no offline feature
for serious traveler, lost of signal is really nightmare

damn, i miss garmin... the POI is damn good
no need to search and can spot petrol station miles away

Just stick with waze.Alot better.I use google maps to check location only.

judging from the spec compared to Hongmi Note, don't think it can perform(battery wise) any better.

tonight i will fully charges the phone. then switch on both at the same time , let wait tomorrow result. setting will b both data on but connected to unifi. screen as auto brightness.

ok here is the result : 8 hours idle : redmi note from 100 - 96%, mi3 from 100 - 92%...

i think note battery is getting better and better after 2nd day charging.

by the way, not sure i mention this before or not. redmi note has no problem in playing youtube file, unlike honor that video and sound cant b sync ....

i play few 20-40 min files and it work perfectly.. screen is sharp also.

The note capable to play mkv movie?maybe try with 5gb or 10gb file size

Have yet to try any mkv. these 2 days I play rmvb files from thumbdrive no issue.

Can you try some??Ive try play some mkv on mi3 but somehow not that satisfied due to some codec issue like no sound.Tested with few players same issue but at least playable with no lag.. Wondering how note perform when play 5 to 10 Gb file size mkv video

oh, i play pnv2 only te st at this phone only... only 2 level... i deleted the games already as i download from other store....
