Ya. Mechanical keyboard like RK9100 is very durable and long lasting.
What kind of mechanical keyboard you looking for? You may refer to the first page of this thread.
Any further question like keycaps, layout, brands, you may ask here later. nod.gif

Mechanical keyboard have 3 common layouts (actually have a lot more, but I only list out more general):
- full size

Just done research for past few days but I wonder what's rare switch? Like clear switch. Saw people selling it for 800 in garage sales. Also is Poker II a high end keyboard?

About that keyboard that sell ~RM800, not mainly because the clear switch. Clear switch not considered very rare. You still able to get stock keyboard for MX Clear like CODE keyboard.
It's because that keyboard is korean custom keyboard, 38GT. The casing of that keyboard is aluminum.
If you notice carefully the 38GT in the garage sales, you will see that the modifiers keys at spacebar row is different from the poker II.

Poker II not a high end keyboard, but is a decent and very good keyboard. nod.gif
Highly customized keyboard, can add LED, can change aluminum casing, etc.

CODE keyboard? Its a keyboard specify for programming? I do a lot of programming that's why I stumble upon this mechanical keyboard thing.

I see, no wonder its expensive. The case alone cost how much?

Since you said poker ii is not high end then what other model that are consider high end? Just curious hmm.gif

The case of the 38GT custom keyboard in the garage sales, the case is Duck Mini V2 is RM900 alone.

CODE keyboard just a keyboard designed by programmers. Some programmers like the switch heavier, so CODE offered MX Green and MX Clear.
Not necessary that keyboard for programming. IMO, that CODE is not worth because the shipping fee from US is overkill.

I'm using HHKB Professional 2 (Topre) for programming, another daily keyboard is Filco Majestouch 2 TKL (MX Brown). Both keyboards also no LED. nod.gif
You may research these 2.

Prefer blue switch if possible, really like the loud noise. What do you think of the Razer switch?

Razer switch is cherry clone switch by Kailh(China).
Bad quality reported. You can consider Razer out of the normal mechanical keyboard league. nod.gif

Ya, blue switch is loud in clicky sound. nod.gif

Filco or Roswell better

Blue quite loud, not suitable use in cubicles or office.
If you insist, maybe you will rage at you and hit you. brows.gif

Filco Majestouch 2 TKL is the best in TKL for the build quality, typing experience.
Definitely the best. No gimmicks, all quality.

Over my budget for now, maybe will upgrade in future. Looking below 300 for my first mech keyboard. How bout Vortex poker ii 60%?

Whats the difference between 60% and tenkeyless?

Why you interested in 60% ? The layout? or price?
If you like the layout, I would recommend you go get Poker II instead of any TKL keyboard. laugh.gif

Mostly because its compact but I wish there is a backlit one. Layout I'm not sure as I never type on it before.

Long time ago, during first time choose mkb, I also bought a backlit one.  nod.gif
Don't worry, Poker II do have version that backlit installed.
But I do recommend the one without backlit, as the stock keycaps set is pbt, won't get shiny even after long time typing.
Backlit keycaps is abs, will get shiny after a month or two of intensive typing.

Compact keyboard is good, because you get everything you need from the keyboard.
Below is 60% layout sample pictures.  laugh.gif

I wonder why so familiar...

Same gang with him? sweat.gif

Also PBT easier to find keycap is it? PBT is a standard for most common mech kb?

Only ABS can be used on backlit? Else the light won't pass through?

Look, it's easy to select a keyboard. See budget how much, then buy lor. Filco and Ducky (not Ducky Zero) have similar build quality, but I think Filco is slightly better.

Anything else is tier 2, unless you're talking about cheap China stuff, then it's probably tier 3 already.

T2 probably stuff like Rosewill, CM Storm, Ducky Zero, etc.

Don't ask me about DasKeyboard or WASD Code because the price you paying for international shipping better spend it on keycaps.

Which is another whole new can of worms biggrin.gif
*
3rd keycaps make big difference when typing? Better than stock? Or just cosmetic?
