Topre 45g? or 55g?
Ya, Realforce is a good brand..
*
45g uniform. Don't like the "ergonomic" weights. All my fingers are well trained from years of... playing bass.

I played bass, right handed player. Ex lead guitar and second guitar. Bass just making my right finger tougher. Typing use both hand, but I don't have problem. Still I', looking for something which is lighter than red.
*
30g topres mang. I think blues a bit heavy for typing now, since I switched. Still better for Dota though. Not sure if I will like the blacks now since it'll arrive after my Topre biggrin.gif

If blue is heavy then you need red or below, vintage black. But, seems like no best switch for me. All switch feels good. biggrin.gif Anyway, 30g is different type so I guess different feeling tho.

Maybe. Maybe not. biggrin.gif

shakehead.gif Oh my... got water spilled on before or will definitely happen to any steel board?
Now I'm a bit scared of my Filco already...  icon_question.gif

30g, even the brown is way light for me; can't feel the force can probably actuate for several seconds, darn membrane fault!! sweat.gif
*
You want lighter switches, you get lighter switches. Easy.

sweat.gif I feels my MX Brown is already very light compare to my laptop and my previous desktop keyboard, both of them are scissors membrane, I can't be sure how much forces it needs to actuate but I feels they needs heavier force to push it down, probably due to my uses of keyboard protector even thought it's just a thin layer of rubber.
Well, till I got a taste of MX Black or any other switches then I can confirm the actuate force of my scissors membrane. hmm.gif
*
It feels better because now you no longer need to bottom out with the keys before it registers.

For membranes, bottoming out is the norm, while for MKBs, it is unnecessary.

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 21 2014, 11:28 AM)
The paint on the steel scratched, that's why corrosion/rust happened there.  thumbup.gif
Will happen to any steel plate except stainless steel.
*
Damn. Looks like I'll need to do an inspection on my gear tonight!

sprit's 2nd gb allows you to choose to be full assembled or not.

if you are getting a full 87 setup, including assembly, it's about USD$300 with shipping.
*
So tempting...

I'm quite done with keycaps exploration, so I'm now on the journey of switches exploration now.

Tried Browns and Blues. Waiting for my blacks and Topre. What's next?

Red, green,, vintage blacks, clear, ergo clear lol. And don't know what else I might have missed out.
*
Once I tried them all... I shall be satisfied and start building my end-game solutions:

1. Topre board, TKL or fullsized.
2. Custom Ergonomic MX Cherry
3. Custom TKL MX Cherry

And that shall be all. Everything else will be sold and I'll retire from this forum except to warn people about the dangers and the cost

After the whole thing, I would like to know the total cost involved lol.
*
Prices are estimates, I think:
RM369 for Ducky Zero Shine.
RM220 for KBT Oni TKL (2nd hand) + Blue 37 keycaps.
RM120 for Banggood PBT white keycaps.
RM145 for Vortex Doubleshots.
RM 60 for 4 Black Dota keys
RM 15 for 1 White Dota key
RM260 for Filco MX Blues (2nd hand)
RM300 for Imsto keycaps
RM200 for SP grab bag. This one is best value IMO.
RM160 for SP DSA TKL keycaps
RM 40 for 4 SP novelty keys (G20 profile)
RM-269 sold Ducky Zero Shine.
RM750 for Realforce 104-keys
RM200 for Flashget G600 MX Black TKL
RM-30 for 2 novelty caps sold
RM390 for Raindrop R2

Total wasted spend: RM2,930

But I'm sure the other sifu will tell you that they have much more to get wink.gif

And all I've done so far is to reach the inevitable conclusion for my keycaps quest.

Now, onto trying all the switches.

This is the total cost currently, I want to know the total cost after end game haha.
*
Ergodox budget around USD 300 for whole set
Add about RM 300 for soldering tools.
Custom TKL budget around RM1,200
HHKB budget around USD 320 include shipping

Meanwhile, budget about RM 500 to test MX greens and MX reds.

Budget around RM 200+ for switches to test MX Vintage Blacks, and MX Ergo Clears, with the assumption that I won't keep it on the keyboards I will use.

So, about RM 4,300+ to go before I will stop.

Holy SHIT, Massdrop doing the ergodox drop again! FML!

HHKB Professional HG Japan.  brows.gif

Test Topre switch first, see if I like. HHKB usually going for USD 260. Assume it's USD 60 or so worse case shipping cost for budget purpose.

Btw, ergodox is ONS!

Both are very quality. brows.gif

Probably gonna test the hhkb layout when I get my custom. Which is delayed 2 months at least thanks to mass drop

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/703080...full-of-awesome

what is this? it's a upcoming kickstarter project to make a cherry mx mechanical keyboard + mouse + joystick combo all in 1.
imagine a mouse sized ergodox with mouse function and PROBABLY, all running wirelessly.
left 20 days to back this project, with minimum price to obtain the keyboard is at USD$200 + USD$20 shipping outside US.
