What's so good about the dolch set?
*
GMK ABS doubleshot. God -tier keycaps.

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ Mar 31 2014, 11:59 PM)
Why? Dolch suits your taste?
*
Quite. And I wanna try GMK goodingness. The current GB set I dun really like because the colour too laid back for me.

hello all the sifu and pro here,  i'm currently looking for corsair k70 keyboard and still considering, any review for this keyboard? thanks in advanced biggrin.gif
*
Non standard bottom row, so can't find replacement keycaps.

6.50 spacebar is virtually impossible to find except at MaxKeyboard (39USD for full set replacement keys).

Otherwise quality is ok, build also ok.

first thanks for replying,
i wonder what's the benefit of changing new keycaps? is that mean the original keycaps will be broken one day?
ahh that issues is holding me up now  blink.gif

Changing keycaps is great. The usual keycaps are of lower quality (thin, not so good material), while aftermarket keycaps are shine-resistant, solid and sounds better when bottoming out.

Important thing is that the switches last a loooong time, and the keycaps will start to wear out long before, so...

It's up to you really.

Also, most LED keyboards will fail over time because the LEDs don't last as long as the switches.

Every keyboard that have LED, the LED will tends to fail at some point because the life of LED is much shorter.
Even you get Ducky, Deck, those LED will fail too. You can change the LED. Not big deal.

By default, the stock keycaps coming with corsair keyboard is ABS materials. For long time use, the keycaps will become shiny, not like when you buy new.
Some people do not like to type on these shiny keycaps, then they will change a new 1. Maybe other materials like PBT or other kind.
Some change because some keycaps really beautiful.

I see, so how to define that the keyboard's keycap is compatible with those aftermarket keycaps?
any suggestion for a keyboard at price range around 3-400?
thanks  notworthy.gif
thank you quovadis, would you mind to tell what's the different between these two materials? ABS and PBT, also changing LED isn't hard but still it involve in welding skills and where to look for good quality LED am i right.  hmm.gif
*
Filco. No ragrats. No LEDs, so is best. Forget LEDs.

Two months later, but new keycaps.

ABS vs PBT? Ez. ABS is slightly softer than PBT, but that's about it. Normally ABS is used for doubleshots, but now PBT also can doubleshot. Super thick PBTs are really nice to type on too.

The consensus so far is PBT > ABS > POM/PC

oh you just buying dampener from taobao? I thought you do bulk order of other stuffs too.. I dun need that.. thanks smile.gif
*
Yeah. Dampeners and maybe some custom cables if I'm ever so inclined.

Personally I prefer pexonpcs cables, but I might get justin to help out there.

MX Blacks are stiffer... Way stiffer than my browns. I need to type a little harder and I'm so used to not bottoming out already.

But you will know I will say worth/not worth depends on situation. nod.gif
Worth = buy, not worth = no buy.
But, you still need consider the pricing. There are things worth, but not affordable.
HHKB pro HG japan is worth, and you are people who using 60%, will you buy it?  laugh.gif
*
I might invest in a HHKB one day. When I just type for funsies and no longer use my function row.

What you mean can't install. There's some issue for low profile keycaps with costar stab and they have to grind the keycaps.  cry.gif
*
Yeah, something like that, but it feels lke I can't install anything other than the original stupid thin keycaps on the shifts and enter.

thanx for ure input bro will take into consideration

Go step by step better, always aiming for 2nd hand or cheapo keyboard.

I tried blues, but it's not suitable for short burst typing, although very good for doto. I think green might have same problem for me, so my tactile clicky quest stop there.

I don't like linear at all, so in the end, my last test will be ergo clears.
