Hey guys, just finalizing my com parts

I've decided on the Gainward GTX760 Phantom 2GB (rm849) for my graphics card. Any recommendations for other better graphics card besides the gainward gtx760 / I should be looking at which fits my budget about rm800-rm1000 (could go up a bit depending) ?

A GTX 760 is pretty much the best card that can fit into your budget. Above that level would be either R9 280X or GTX 770, and this typically costs around RM1.2k above.

There are a few other GTX 760s that you can also consider, Zotac GTX 760 AMP! Edition, Leadtek GTX 760 OC or Palit GTX 760 Jetstream.

No.AFAIK,Gainward GTX760 Phantom is the best GPU in 800-1000 range of budget.Other than that,is the Zotac GTX 760 AMP! Edition,but it costs more.Unless you're willing to spend more for R9 280X..

correct me if im wrong, but based from what ive been reading, the only difference between the gtx760 phantom and the normal gtx760 is that the former is an overclocked version yeah? Ive no experience with overclocking products before and if i actually need it in the first place, theres only a rm50-ish price difference between the 2, so Im guessing I'll just go with the overclocked version

You're right, the Phantom is an overclocked version of the GTX 760. The performance difference shouldn't be that much. But what you're getting is a slightly better cooling solution compared to the reference solution.

creative zn, very happy now to hear that you have figured out what is the root cause of the issue. Yes, no stand offs will also cause the mobo traces to be shorted to the casing and thus ground, and this will cause the signal to be grounded, and there will be no definite signal for the mobo to start up.

im guessing there was a price increase for some of the parts like about rm150-rm200 more than what I counted earlier in the month, ah well..hopefully the guys at lowyat can give me a good price/discount

All is good but change the DVDRW to another brand... any brand will do except for Samsung... they make great HDD and SSD but not ODDs.. noisy and unreliable that one

how about monitor? i'm looking to buy 27", but from Viewnet pricelist, its around 800++. what monitor do you recommend?
