As far as I know... the current MSI K9N Neo 550 motherboard do not have multiplier selection in the BIOS... maybe future BIOS update will enable that.

Overclocking AM2 is just the same as overclocking 754 and 939. The basic is whenever you overclock, make sure the hypertransport speed does not exceed 2000mhz

Hypertransport (2000mhz) => HT bus x LDT multi x 2
Clockspeed = HT bus x multiplier (or FID in some cases)

Sempron AM2 still can run dual channel ram, it is... ? n nForce 570 is for SLI, it is?

hmm.... I think it's just the same la, it's just that Sempron had lower multiplier and clockspeed, as well as smaller cache. Which Sempron were you talking about.... 2800+ or 3000+? Both are rated at 1600MHz if I'm not mistaken.

For AM2 processors, divider is DDR against clockspeed.

Check out this table for Athlon64 dividers, Sempron might applicable as well. Not sure where the original source came from, but thanks to knacky from XS forum for posting it up earlier.



All AM2 processors run on dual channel.

Just get boards with 570-590 chipset.dun buy 6100.My Giga board 6100 no OC option in bios  .Luckily can use software.

Eventho I've been ocing for 5yrs,still cant understand how AM2 Fsb or HTT works.So wanna ask expert here.I cant get past 250HTT if I set DDR2 at 667 in bios...but if set DDR2-400 can go up to 300HTT currently still priming.Why like this one.Set DDR2 667 with lower clock speed or set  400 with higher clock speed better?

I have one Biostar TForce6100 too. And what worst is, the video not working and memory timing cant adjust manually. This time, 6100 Sux to max.

I already Phobia Onboard GPU mobo, gonna top up For your TForce550. 
It my 1st and last microAtx mobo. 

Maybe this is the 1st batch for Biostar AM2 6100. That why it abit buggy for me. Anyway, you get my Pm rite? Dont change for me another 6100. I top up for Tforce550. IF 2nd one also lidat, den waste postage money nia.

I gonna feed mine voltage of 1.5-1.6v and see what it can do. Then stop and find my suitable speed for daily use.

The sempron is the cheapest part in my system.    Even my casing worth more then it.

Processor ...definitely 3800+ X2. Mobo depends on your budget....

My list would go for:
- Biostar Tforce550 ... around RM350
- DFI Infinity UltraII-M2 ...around RM435
- ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe ...around RM790

G.Skill GBHZ does not use fatbody D9, only D9GMH. The GBGA uses D9GKX.

that's weird. coz older version GBHZ uses Elpida, and newer ones use D9GMH.

D9GMH/D9GKX can also do 3-3-3 DDR2-900 with high voltage

at what voltage it runs 3-3-3 DDR2-900?

kenny, can u provide your G.skill part number? i'm still suspicious that u mention yours had fatbody in it. obviously if u read XS forum, you'll know G.skill never use fatbody Micron.

D9GMH can do 3-3-3-x DDR2-900 as well, and DDR2-1200 CL5 is not too rare
