lol i told u already.. let us know ur bios option..
especially cpu voltage, ram voltage, ram timming setting, htt multiplier
u need to observe the bios than we will know can oc or not..
if u really want to try... increase the fsb from 200 to 220 in 2-5 incremental..

alritez... i'll go home and gather the info for ya smile.gif i'm currently in my office working sweat.gif so tonite i'll start my proc overclocking rclxm9.gif

now using Mushkin DDR2-533.

thank...

wah alot of problem for am2???

anyway,recently i build am2 rig for my brother..using msi k9n board.
it have a hang problem. At first i tot its the temp...but when i do some checking...it seems like the auto setup for ram is the problem. What i did is try to play with the ram setting.for me i set to latency 3 from 4...........it solve the prob tho....
*
well i'm using am2 3500+ and it doesn't seems to give me any prob at all laugh.gif its working perfectly and i like it thumbup.gif

Its not like C2D price diff is RM50 right? Ppl also need to consider budget and availability. I buy AM2 and also able to afford a better GC to play games. No point buying a C2D just to get good superPI.
*
true laugh.gif unless you wanna do encoding or graphic work maybe getting am2 is a wrong choice smile.gif

guys i wanna ask something tongue.gif i juz figured out a lil bit about overclocking cpu... and my bios has all the overclocking option, so if i wanna do slight overclocking all i do is to change the cpu clock frequency? my multiplier is x11 so once i change the fsb i don't need to do anything to my ram rite?

Hmmm guys sorry for asking this question over and over again, i'm quite blur about the RAM divider table thing, can anybody please spend some time to explain about it?

QUOTE(x800 @ Sep 14 2006, 09:23 AM)
Hurm, its quite simple actually.i'll try my best to give examples to make u understand how to calculate it..

First u need to find the table which cpu multiplier u are running.in the first post there are 12 tables, so if u're cpu multiplier is 9x, then read the respective table. Next just calculate the ddr2 speed from the respective ddr2 divider. For example, if u're running 9x multiplier, a divider of 400 will give a ram freq of CPUSpeed/9. 533 divider will give a ram freq of CPUSpeed/7, 667 divider will give ram freq of CPUSpeed/6, and 800 divider will give ram freq of CPUSpeed/5..

1st Case:
Ur cpu multiplier is 9x, and the HTT is 278Mhz.Ur resulting CPU speed is around 2.5Ghz.
If you use a 400 Divider, the resulting DDR2 speed is (2500/9)*2=278*2=DDR556.
If you use a 533 Divider, the resulting DDR2 speed is (2500/7)*2=357*2=DDR714.

2nd Case:
Ur cpu multiplier is 8x, and the HTT is 333Mhz.Ur resulting CPU speed is around 2.66Ghz .
If you use a 400 Divider, the resulting DDR2 speed is (2660/8)*2=333*2=DDR666.
If you use a 533 Divider, the resulting DDR2 speed is (2660/6)*2=443*2=DDR887.
Hope this helps smile.gif And pls correct me if i'm wrong..
*
okay i kinda get it now, my ram is 667 and i juz add some fsb speed won't really harm my RAM rite. i'm not gonna go extreme as i'm VERY new to cpu overclocking for now

Thx man i will try...why the HT link muz keep below 1000 huh?
xie xie ni..i try to set...cause i not sure how to set to 3x or 4x lols(what is that HTT means lol)...as for my ram...how to x2 it? i remember when i saw it at bios is ald running at 667mhz...why cpuz showing 334mhz..i also confuse..and regarding to the voltage..i need to increase it right? while i overclocking my CPU..and i wonder my POOR  225w PSU can tahan ma...whaaha
*
uhhhh... 225w psu better not touch anything dude... with the amount of power i think its only sufficient for normal use laugh.gif

I would say Gigabyte is a very very bad choice if you want to overclock an AMD.

100% agreed, i can't even lower down htlink from bios mad.gif
