8tvt, that is good overclocking result ~500Mhz, considering what people has been saying about Asus M2N-E.

I've devided that I will buy Biostar TForce4U because I have 4 Ide drive that needs to be plug in to the MOBO. TForce 550 is sexy, but just have one Ide slot ... sigh ...

So before I buy the Mobo, probably tomorrow or Monday, any comment on Tforce4U? I asked the shopkeeper about the mobo, he said the different in overclocking BIOS is unlike Tforce 550, Tforce4U does not have memory timing.

Another thing that I want to know. What value RAM should I get? Corsair? Kingston? Patriot?

Thanks in advance.

no ler.. share the knowlegde only..
infact ppl see M2N-E board is not good.. at least they can see the result..
just to see what others setting too..
i'm not playing with ram timing just yet.. only fix on the best solution at the moment.. 4cl for the KVR is pretty well i think..

It seems that my mobo isnt really that o/c friendly... I cant seem to find multiplier adjustment for the HTT.... To o/c stabily i have to throttle my HT to 200mhz... refer my screenshot...

When i change the HTT multiplier using amdtweaker it could not restart... Haihhhh... So sayang.... Kinda sad coz the mobo can support vdimm up till 2.40v.... Haihhhh... Muahahahhaa..

haha.. atleast can get 667 ddr to climb up untill 800.. pretty good...

@perswis
normally prefered ram will goes for corsair.. but in term of the price maybe kingston cheap a bit.. but still perform good.. RMA also not a big problem like patriot..

for mobo why don't u take dfi?

Hmmmmm still experimenting to find setting that can work, kinda hard coz most of the AM2 X2 users in lowyat are Asus M2Ne, DFi n Biostar tforce users so i could not compare setting... Haihhhh.. smile.gif

HTT seems not affect the result.. in earlier stage even put 1x also just the same.. only don't exceed 1020 like that..

maybe budget MSI mobo automatically set for stable function.. so good for the beginers..

32m super pi also have a good result on 2.4g... so it's ok..

I have ponder upon the possibility, but the chipset seems to be the same with Tforce 4U and the price different is +- RM 100. Moreover, I does not need SLI.

it's not rely on chipset.. the cost also include better mobo component..
u got the point on the chipset.. that's why i take a risk to get M2N-E which use 570 SLI new chipset eventhough disable SLI ability..

i'm not very sure about biostar.. for me on selecting a mobo i look forward the oc features.. layout and also good bios..

I think the MSI K9N Ultra version got more OC features. Just cost about RM350 only.

a lot of people complain or argue about MSI's reliability. only a few of them using it without issues.

Hehehe ... thanks guys for advice(s) ...

I've made my first move towards migrating to AM2 platform by trading in my agp 6600GT with 7300GT with little added cost ... icon_idea.gif

Actually this is Socket AM2 overclocking thread right ... sorry for distracting U guys. InsyaAllah I'll post my overclocking result when my system is up and running.

Thanks again!

DFI Infinity nF-M2 seems to be the best budget overclocking mobo right now, same features with Infinity nF UltraII-M2 except:
- only support SATA, no SATA2
- built-in audio, slightly lower end compare to UltraII-M2
- only one PCI-e 16x slot

everything else pretty much the same I guess... and price is about RM360 if not mistaken...

using normal nForce 4 chipset.

Yup when i bought the mobo AM2 was only coming out so no choice ler... It's either MSI or biostar, not even asus was in stock... bcoz of budget constraint i had to buy MSI, the price was only RM320... tongue.gif Haihh..Top up a bit u can get mobo with NF570 nowadays... Miahahaha.... laugh.gif But still ok ler, i can oc abit ler... Only fault is the HTT timing.. Miahahaha...
