Avoid BIOSTAR 6100-AM2 if possible.... that board really sucks... I mean in term of overclocking. The BIOS option is very limited.
But if you're just planning to use it normally, then it should be okay. |

yup...
it's not that wise to concentrate QC on enthusiasts model only (TForce) ...but even TForce 6100-AM2 bios sucks too .... and includes other nF4 based TForce AM2 as well (many found so).... different from the nF500 series This post has been edited by soulfly: Jul 29 2006, 10:33 PM |

I would say.... AM2 3000+, BIOSTAR TForce 550, 2x512MB Kingston 667, 7300GT DDR3 with Enlight 400W (atx 2.0) will do just fine. Definitely can play the latest game, but not full resolution with all the eye candy tuned up la.
I can play The Godfather (the first game i play with my current rig) with the same setup (with half ram size though) .... at 1024 x 768, all graphic options turned on/high, and anisotropic 3x & anti-aliasing at 4x ..... just smooth. |

at 2.6ghz @ 1.4v, my cpu is at around 50'C-51'C
maybe your ambient temperature is slightly higher, thus contributing to slightly hotter cpu |

BIOSTAR TForce 550 winsASUS M2N-E had extra functions though.... overclock not bad, more simpler bios. ...differences... M2N-E - 1x PCI-e 4x - 3x PCI - 6x SATA2 ports, support RAID 5 - Vdimm option max 1.95v TForce 550 - 2x PCI-e 1x - 4x PCI - 4x SATA2 ports - Vdimm option max 2.2v everything else is just the same... you can compare the spec of nforce 570 ultra and nforce 550 from nvidia website. just think for yourself whether you need those extra SATA ports or PCI-e 4x slot. But for me... if I could afford M2N-E.... QUOTE(syazone @ Aug 2 2006, 11:38 PM) mmmmm how come? DFI M2 better? its still using Nforce 4 rite? .... i'm still doubt when is the best time to build am2 system since next weekend is pc fair, whether price will decrease or not in term of overclocking capability, DFI M2 is much-much better in term of BIOS configuration.... although it's nF4.besides... it can be easily modded to SLI p/s: in overclockers united.... we always discuss in the context of overclocking |

QUOTE(vey99 @ Aug 2 2006, 06:52 PM) I also thinking about it when I bought my AMD rig 2 weeks ago. M2N-E is RM60 more and its different chipset also, 570U, hard to compare. Key points for me in selecting M2N-E: 1) Support DDR533 (biostar website say tf550 support 667/800) and I have spare 1GB 2) Supposedly better O/C since 570 chipset 3) Cool looking heatpipe (i'm a sucker for good looks) QUOTE(t(-.-t) @ Aug 3 2006, 03:30 AM) thanks for enlighten me TForce 550 supports 400/533/667/800 (the BIOS said so).after google it, now understand how it works edi suppor 533 also rite?? Memory speed support depends on processor, not motherboard... in case of K8 of course. This post has been edited by soulfly: Aug 3 2006, 11:17 AM |

Cannot use.... the shop dude know nuts about AM2, maybe he thinks that it's the same as Socket-940 while it is not.
Only clip based heatsink which is compatible with AM2 retention bracket, or a backplate that uses 4-holes which can be fitted through AM2 mobos. |

QUOTE(vey99 @ Aug 5 2006, 11:34 AM) Bro, now I tension oredi, I took this screenshot early this morning b4 I came to work... what should my 12V be like? Please advise. Is this the one connect to the mobo? I got a 7600GT and also up my vcore from 1.42 to 1.425... I suggest you get Enermax since you overclock ... the FMA series Enermax offers good value/performance compare to other brand within the same level. The 7600GT might consume not as much power as high end cards, but who knows the current it draws from the PSU.QUOTE(sukun @ Aug 5 2006, 12:10 PM) Decided to build a new AMD system. My old rig=total trash! AM2 4400+ is RM910 in CYCOM pricelist. The one u saw selling for RM850 is S939.*AMD X2 4400+ (RM850-Cycom) <----Is this price-tag true? Other shop sell for 1K+ *Any bang-for-bucks MSI/GB/ASUS 570U chipset motherboard *1GB 667Mhz *MSI NX7600GT-VT2D256E-HD (RM685-TMatch) <----Is this real too? VIVO card btw. Also plan to do a SLI system. What's your fellow ppl's view? I'm not that hardcore gamer at all facing the screen 24/7. But I want to try out Advance Warfighter. 570U mobo... I recommend ASUS M2N-E RAM .... I suggest 1GB 667 from Corsair (look for the dark colour PCB, in the garage section Ash has some. SLI is a waste if you don't really do much gaming. Just go for a single high performance card. |
