I've clocked my RAM with /6 divider , thus enabling 750 MHz DDR2 at 5-5-5-15-1T. I am wondering if you can give opinion whether I should tighten the timing and use /7 divider which giving 643 MHz DDR2 at 4-4-4-12-1T?

I've tried to clock the base clock beyond 250 MHz, but got problem. Maybe I have to increase a bit the proc's voltage from 1.40v to 1.55v again.. Any advice?

i would say that you use the one that gives better performance

just extra USB port if i'm not mistaken

in addition, 570 chipset got two gigabit ethernet ports compared to 550 chipset.

By the way, 550 chipset is already enough for most users.

Added on February 28, 2007, 12:13 pmQuestion for biostar tforce 550 mainboard users here, did you install a RAMsink on these VRM? I noticed that there two holes at both ends of these VRM arrays. Very convenient. If only I could find an elongated RAMsink with some kind of retention in order to plug into the holes.

Ok, I'll experiment and do comparison by benchmarking of these two RAM clocking setups

Right now mild O/C only. I did try 333 fsb with i-dont-remember-the-multiplier. Maybe multi 8. Ram timing obviously quite loose. 5-5-5-15 2t and some other options which im not familiar with. tongue.gif

Any diff performance between these two?

266 x 10

333 x 8

Both will be around 2.66ghz i know but does the different in fsb can boost anything?

no different because FSB does not exist. there is no such thing as FSB in K8 architecture.

however you might wanna check which combination gives higher memory speed

and what about cpu voltage.. how much u set in bios?
thinking to get the same board as urs... or fatality..
which one better?
*
for bios..i dont do much..coz running on automatic OC..

but when using the T-Utility OC...i set 1.5 only...

between biostar and fatality,

if u think u wanna "hantam" ur mobo like im trying to do, then ok la...coz cheaper..
i bought for only RM680 maa.....so not "terasa sgt" la...if this mobo condemn... biggrin.gif
but if wanna use for long time and got extra money, go for fatality...

i'm a fan of ABIT since K7...really like to OC it..but quite expensive for fatality...

so choosing to use biostar la...

performance wise.....donno coz didn't try fatality..

dont say like that la...not a rich guy la...
i assemble new PC for myself once a year only...

so this mobo use to be hantam only..coz learning how to OverClock...
if it OverCooked...then get the latest and reliable and powerful mobo..then dont want to hantam anymore la...

the only setback for this project is buying the HyperTX...the fan really2 slow...
dont like it...the OC temp reach 65 on max load on 100% fan speed... one day this CPU gonna OCooked... shakehead.gif

other who is using HyperTX....got the same temp??
