Is it your ram plug into to the nearest ram slot near to cpu? It happened to me that i plug to slot3 and slot4, it limits my computer oc abilities.

Hi guys, Im planning to get new AM2 proc. I preferly to get AMD64 X2 3600+ AM2 proc with 256kb*2 lv2 cache due to my budget limit.

After looking at yhis thread rank, I observed that AMD64 X2 3800+ AM2 proc with 512kb*2 lv2 cache would give more promising in overclocking.

But i just read on one artikel that show 3600+ and 3800+ are on par with each other...

My Webpagehttp://www.digital-daily.com/cpu/athlon_64_x2_am2/index03.htm

So..guys, ur personal opinion, should i go for 3800+ or 3600+? icon_question.gif

thanks

AFAIK, 3800++ only win 3600++ by around 5 % in performance. It is up to you which you want to choose from.

For overclocking, it really depends on luck whether you get a nice chip or not. smile.gif

have u updated to the latest bios?

unupdated am2 mobo often had 270mhz-280mhz HTT limitations.

I need your advices here. i want to set up an AM2 system. The proc will be X2 3600+ or 3800+. My daily usage: graphic design, games,.. and OC too but not extreme smile.gif. Which mobo is suitable, stable and less problematic for this setup, ASUS M2N-E, ABIT KN9 Ultra or SLI, Biostar 570U, price range from RM3xx. Thanks for your help.

hi soulfly, does the 570U chipset have any advantage over the 550 one? And my budget can be from RM300-400. Is Abit KN9U a good choice, i havent used any Biostar mobo, is the quality ok?
