Hello Everyone,

want to ask opinions from Sifu here

I'm currently owning canon 60D + 16-35L. Am thinking to upgrade to fullframe .

Option 1 : canon 6D and remain every piece that i own.
Option 2 : trade in everything and get Nikon D800(2nd hand Shuttercount below 5K)

Which camera is a better choice?? hmm.gif

Thank you notworthy.gif

arr... what makes you consider the 6D and D800 at first?

they aren't even same class camera so the comparison isn't valid imo. with the D800 you need around 10k or something to get nice lens + body. with the 6D you only need around 4k (if you trade in your 60D).

Bro, The thing that i consider is about the Noise handling on 6D. and D800 is because of the 2nd hand value is cheap and able to afford but the problem is i'm not sure which one able to shoot well in low light condition. Need advise.

D800 is indeed much more advance compared to 6D. Just pick it if you can afford and willing to change system.

6D is D610 range. D800 is 5dmk3 range.

D800 also needs to upgrade several hard disk or even CPU....36MP files are no joke.

With D800, you need 64GB of CF card or SD card which must have read/write speed of 60mb/s minimum.
Also, you need some good lense.

8GB/16GB oso can la... each 8GB = 100 shots in RAW only

D800/D800E is not a camera suitable for machine gunning down subjects (4fps only)... that is what the D4 is for...

and yes.. u need very good lenses to resolve images to make full use of that 36mp....

both are different level of cameras... 6d is prosumer like the D610... D800 is professional equipment

but if both prices are the same n the D800 is in reasonable good condition, go for the better equipment (if u know how to handle it)

u only have one lens ATM so not much damage if u trade in.. the nikon 16-35 is a good lense for the D800

you will probably need a USD3.0 connection to download the files and SSD drive to edit the photos with reasonable read/write speed

Well, I already have Sandisk 32GB CF and Toshiba's Exceria 64GB SD card, which can take 1200 photos.

The media cards will fail faster if pull in/out too often.

just shutdown ur camera before swapping ur CF card smile.gif

anyway, lets end this debate between one big CF card versus many small CF card.. to each his own...

to TS, just to clarify, D800 does NOT NEED a minimum 32GB CF card... it works well with 8GB/16GB CF cards... but the minimum 60MB/sec speed is strongly recommended...

i use 16GB CF card can get 400++ with jpeg fine large & 800++ with jpeg fine medium..jpeg fine medium is already good for me, no need to use jpeg fine large all the time..medium can give u 24mp, thats already good enough for my shooting..my old spec pc as stated at my siggy below still can handle D800 file nicely thumbup.gif

just stick to canon. using new system is going to confuse you a lot.
