No peephole at fire door, what can i do?, I'm not allowed to drill hole on it.....

My apartment unit is near the staircase, the entrance door is a fire door with no peephole, I feel uncomfortable if not able to see things outside... but dont feel like want to install a cctv there... what can i do so that i can see things outside without changing the door?

Really depend the local management. My office they allow, and I have just drill and installed one.
If can't, install CCTV loh, is not expensive.

Maybe can get those peephole that is certified for Firedoor usage.

apply some logic ... there is gap under your door, there is gap on top of the door ... so what is another hole in the middle of your door going to do ?
if you are dealing with air tight situation then drilling a hole would be a problem.
even you install a CCVT, you still need to drill a hole somewhere for the cable to pass ... what the difference ... end of the day a hole need to be drill somewhere.

He stays in the apartment. He's bound by rules, even if the rules do not make sense. If he drills a hole when he's told not to because of their rules, he may be asked to replace the door.

peep hole problem meh ... i blow such a BIG hole still get BOMBA cert yearly. i already 4 years handle fire safety for my company ... where go problem only problem is you have idiot as management. that i cannot help lah
