Hello and welcome to my worklog. For this project i'll be migrating some of the parts from my previous build to this. the goal is quite similar to my last worklog, acrylic tube water cooling, this time in a Corsair 750D. Please don't expect much, i'm not a modder like all the pro sifus here thumbup.gif , just trying to make a decent looking water cooling rig.

- The name for this project, which is Dracarys, does it need any explanation? haha, those who watch GOT will understand icon_rolleyes.gif
- Theme of this build will be black and red for the most part.

Parts list:

cpu - Intel Core I5 3570K
mobo - MSI z77 GD65 Gaming
Ram - 4GBx2 G.Skill RipjawsX 2133MHz
psu - Coolermaster Silent Pro m700
gpu - Sapphire HD6970 + XFX HD6950 Unlocked
ssd - Samsung 840 Evo 250GB
hdd - Seagate 1TB SSHD 7200rpm 64mb
case - Corsair 750D

Cooling:

1) XSPC Raystorm
2) EKWB 6970 Acetal Waterblock x2
3) XSPC EX360 + XSPC RX240 (cooled by 7 Coolermaster Jetflo fans red led)
4) XSPC Dual bay res + Swiftech MCP355
5) Bitspower C47 + Custom acrylic tubes
6) Mayhems Pastel Red for coolant

- Not much of an upgrade from my last build, just added a 6970 for cfx with my 6950. Not looking to upgrade to AMD 7xxx series or R9, not even Nvidia 7xx series in the near future, not much of a gamer these days, only bought the extra card for looks biggrin.gif. Also changed ram, ssd, hdd and case, sold off the rest.
- While waiting for my items to arrive from bro Lucasss's ppcs bulk thumbup.gif , already started on the rig. Here's a lil preview:

Nice job. But yeah if it's a little more brighter shade of red it'll be perfect. But otherwise great work. I'm sure you'll add LEDs later on so it'll be fine anyways.

yeah should have gone with a brighter red. i might add some sleeved white led's in the future, or i might just take off the heat spreader and repaint the damn thing haha

haha thanks bro smile.gif . i use bitspower C47 multi-link fittings, you can buy them along with the crystal link tubes, they come with different sizes depending on which slots you use for crossfire/sli.

but mine i cut the tubes myself, and filed the edges.

#update 23/3/14

- tubing all done. today had a bit of a scare, pump failed halfway through leak testing. took out the pump to see whats the problem, thought it died on me, turns out a paper clip got stuck inside the pump wtf hahaha doh.gif how the hell it ended up in there i have no idea.
- all is good now, currently leak testing the rig, for the 2nd time. letting the pump run for a few hours to let the bubbles out before turning on the rig. will update the pics later.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. Now that yu mentioned it yes. But I think I'll stick to red tubing. I like primochills blood red color. Then use normal distilled water can edi.

Eh? Restriction? Looks like alot of space to me. Where was the loop supposed to be originally placed?

#update 27/3/14

- just a small update, my cables arrived from niclasteoh today thumbup.gif , started working on them immediately.
- already worked on a few prototypes for a psu cover using some leftover cardboards, will upload them later. end product will be acrylic ofcourse

very smart of him to leave the pcie connectors unconnected from the cables, coz he knows im gonna sleeve them

i still haven't mastered sleeving yet, far from satisfied but it'll do for now biggrin.gif

#update 30/3/14

- not really an update, just started working on the psu cover design. the picture below will most likely be the final design i will use.
- still not sure whether to laser cut the "dragon", and place red acrylic behind it, or just print a sticker and just place it on the psu cover.
- would be cool though if i decided to laser cut the dragon, and maybe place some led's to make the red acrylic glow thumbup.gif

#update 4/4/13

- another small update. got my psu cover from shepard today thumbup.gif , but i miscalculated my measurements a bit, so need to modify the cover a bit.
- after i make some adjustments to the psu cover, i'll be wrapping it up with carbon fiber, hopefully it'll turn out okay rclxm9.gif
- not much left to do for this build, just the psu cover and some additional lighting, thinking of getting the nzxt sleeved led white

the picture shepard took before he sent it out to me, just a teaser for now

#update 4/9/14

- finished wrapping the psu cover with carbon fiber sticker, not really pleased with how it looks but it'll do for now
- bought some led strips from mod_po, 1 problem i had when it arrived, the soldering job wasn't quite so good. when it tried to sleeve the molex wires, without applying any pressure whatsoever, the wires fell off from the soldering point. so i went to ace hardware, got a soldering tool and re-did it myself icon_rolleyes.gif
- i was worried that the led's might be too bright, and i was right. it makes my jetflo fans look so dull cry.gif , only way i think to solve this problem is to sleeve the led strip, which i will do later.
- forgive me for the pictures below, my side window is scratched, somemore inside of the case filled with my cat's fur cry.gif

really cheap led strip thumbup.gif 5m for RM40 only, still got a lot of left overs. anybody want? huhu

#update 19/5/14

just a small update on where this build is headed, nothing interesting. i still consider it unfinished coz i dont quite like how it looks. got myself a pump top + res combo from niclasteoh, gonna change my tube route a bit, hopefully its finished by this week.

also in the not so distant future tongue.gif hopefully, i'll be swapping the mobo and cpu with a z97 board and haswell cpu, most probably going to be the maximus 7 hero and 4670k/4770k

So. Farking. Tempting. But how much is it plus shipping? At Aquatuning it is only RM470

But a bit of a hassle, cuz it's Lucas's bulk. He paid, so if cancel he has to coordinate with you.

Btw expected date of delivery is this friday. So i see how first

after convert, the block itself is around RM397, shipping is about GBP16=RM86. split 2 ways is RM43 each, so you're looking at about maybe around RM440 estimate.

see how first la bro, if you still can't get your block from aquatuning, just ask refund lorh, then can try specialtech or elsewhere

after convert, the block itself is around RM397, shipping is about GBP16=RM86. split 2 ways is RM43 each, so you're looking at about maybe around RM440 estimate.

see how first la bro, if you still can't get your block from aquatuning, just ask refund lorh, then can try specialtech or elsewhere

If youre in a rush you go ahead first. I'll let you know after this weekend. If still OOS then screw aqautuning. Hahahaha.

#update 5/7/14

- its been a while since the last update. last time my temps were really bad, 40c on wc means that something is not right. So i decided to change the tubing route a little bit + a pump top tube res combo.
- Went from 40c to 35c, a 5c drop. Not bad from just changing the tube route, but still hurts my eyes every time i look at the temps on the onboard debud led.
- So i decided to try out a potted peltier, the 80.1w from niclasteoh, and man was it a surprise. At first i ran it at 12v, and the temps were at 0c. Yup thats right, 0c, and i think it went to negative if i had left it on longer, and if the board could read negative temps. First time i've ever shut down my PC because it was running too cold lol shocking.gif .

thanks bro, but its nothing compared to yours, im not even modding, just assembling huhu thumbup.gif

actually i use a filer tool to file the acrylic edges, and then finish it up with sandpaper to make it smooth

#update 27/7/2014

- not much to update, just re-did the whole loop again tongue.gif
- Slapped the koolance block on the 6990 & re-arranged the fittings and cut some acrylic for the new config
- filled loop with mayhems
- 6990 temps improved a lot, before (avg. 45-50c/ sometimes 60 shocking.gif with no load), now (avg idle 35c )
- next => will buy 2 slim fans to place at the bottom, and then re-adjust the lighting, and maybe a new psu cover
- lastly for now, Selamat Hari Raya to my muslim brothers and sisters(if there happen to be any girls here by any chance tongue.gif ), and also happy holidays to everyone thumbup.gif

i think can no problem, only issue would be heatsink and screw length
